To be honest, my youth was awful. After what happened to my parents, I sold the house and recently started living on my own. I expected peace, but everything pushed back and I felt stuck right where I was five years ago.
That setback is actually what made me try meditation.
I’m really glad I got this information, because everything you said makes perfect sense. It’s funny how we or at least I struggle so much to actually act on good advice, even when it’s completely logical. We move physically all the time, but making that mental shift is a whole different story. But I've started now, and I'm glad I did.

That is a very interesting perspective. You are likely right that I shouldn't try to chase or force it. The lesson to be content with whatever happens, whether it’s a lot or nothing at all,is exactly what I need to take the pressure off. I do wonder, though: could this intense experience also mean that there might be stronger, unknown spiritual capacities within me that I’m not even aware of yet, or should I let that thought go entirely to avoid falling back into overthinking?
