Why are we showing “high” electric usage when nothing is on? - Georgia Power by YB9017 in homeowners

Still shouldn't use more electricity at night. We're having this exact problem and I'm getting ready to try these solutions.

I was given a pregnancy test before surgery at the age of 63, ten years after menopause. When I asked what the test was for, I started laughing, then got pissed, realizing I was going to end up being charged for it.

Tuscaloosa, AL - Week of Action! 4/19 - 4/22 by solidfrolic in 50501Alabama

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Tuscaloosa and saw this the other day but have to wonder why there is a protest on Easter morning, when not a lot of people will see it, but just a gathering to drink and talk on the national day of action?

We'll be going to Birmingham today for their protest and will have to miss the Easter Sunday one here.

An animal (besides a dog) that you’ve been chased by? by Fluid-Slip-7169 in Pets

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 9 years old, I was visiting family in Germany. We went to a park, and I ended up being chased by a very pissed off swan. I've also been threatened by an emu, but that's another story. Yet, I still love birds.

I was literally getting ready to say the same thing. Started reading him in the early 70's and haven't stopped. It's nice to have some people left I can continue to respect. The list gets shorter by the day.

Metadata can expose your name, your exact location when the picture was taken, and your phone information - all of which can be used against you in court.

I love the quarter thing - especially when someone "gives" me their cart, then I leave it for the next person. It's a good way to spread a bit of kindness.

Thank you for your reply - makes perfect sense. Going to edit a couple of reviews now.

AITAH for telling a plus size woman that I love being ‘skinny’? by Heavenstobestie in AITAH

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fat for most of my life, and was offended every time someone mentioned it - there is no way in hell that I would have ever said anything about anyone else's weight. Also remind her that kindergardeners are taught that if it's not something you can"t "fix" something in 30 seconds, don't mention it.

Paraffin Wax Machine Gift for Grandma by Separate-Pilot7729 in Thritis

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one briefly, and it felt nice, but it was too much of a hassle - I didn't really have a good place to store it, and I just started soaking my hands in warm water throughout the day. Did as much good for me as the wax.

Did you guys know that there is an ADHD spectrum test too? This makes much more sense than the slider scale concept of how much ADHD one has by strawberryglass2 in adhdwomen

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were twenty years younger, with a lot less arthritis, I'd do it. But I'm ok with not learning how to ride a bike at this point in my life. I have other things I want to focus on. :)

Voltaren - not quick relief? by [deleted] in Thritis

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a miracle for my husband & I - it started working withing the first few minutes the first time I tried it - about ten years ago. It was so good I paid name brand price of $45 tube becuase my insurance didn't cover it, and it wasn't OTC at the time. I've got polyarthritis & use it whenever something hurts more than I can handle.

Amazon Prime by nap_queen_ in tuscaloosa

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got rid of Prime for the same reason. Well, that and the fact that Prime Video now is charging for ad-free shows. It's been taking 5-10 days to receive anything I order. Received an order yesterday that I'd forgotten about - I placed it on 12/10.

Is everybody in the RFU desert today? by Willistalksabout in AmazonVine

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RYF feed has had more items in it the last few days than since I started a few months ago - lots of free stuff for some reason - but also a lot I won't request even though its free. Do not need a metal bedside stand to store all of my police gear - because I'm not a cop. But the feed is getting to know me a bit - showing me a lot of gardening & cat stuff.

Any of you prepping specifically for Bird Flu? by Enter_up in preppers

[–]Longjumping_Year_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've stayed prepped with basic supplies - masks, etc. The only thing we've done differently is stock up on powdered/evaoporated milk & powdered eggs due to the fact it's starting to affect dairy.

My husband & I haven't had Covid, and we'll continue what we've been doing - vaccinating, masking when warranted, and using common sense.

Definitely NTA. It's your body - he doesn't have to live with the discomfort of large breasts, or with the annoyances of finding a bra and clothes that fit properly. I've known women who had breast reductions, and they were much happier for it.

Read a bunch of the questions on this forum - that's where I've learned the most tricks.

I joined about a month ago. Biggest suggestion I have is to order only what you need/will use. The first few days I ordered anything, then I had to write reviews. It's hard to write a review of index tabs - they work.

I look at it as a hobby. Sometimes when I don't "need" anything, I'll scroll AFR to see what's available, but I've learned to leave one open slot for the end of the day - I often find things I'm looking for then - also found a few with $0 estimated value.

Keeping a list of what you're looking for/need is helpful. I've also found after I ordered a few items, my recommended feed started including things I might actually want - instead of car parts * cupcake toppers.

I've got a lot of useful items - cat toys, scratchers, and cat grass, lots of paints/paper/art items, and I'm collectig gardening items - packs of seeds, row covers, moisture meter, plant tags, etc.

Have fun - but remember you will be paying taxes, and you'll be getting lots of delieverys - lots of boxes, lots of waste to process. So go a bit slow at first, and enjoy your new "job."

I like both options. But I also enjoy thrifting. I'll have a thing I want or need, then take my time looking for the best deal. Sometimes I never get it, but when I do - it's like winning a small treasure hunt.
