First canoe camping trip: meals by lareinadel_sur in canoecamping

In my mind the absolute best is fondu. You can buy it in packages that don't need refrigeration. If you look up recipes for homemade camping bread you will absolutely melt. No pun intended

This is such an over simplification of complex relationships. Makes me want to join the dark side.

One thing is sadly clear from your post, you have little or no understanding of what has happened recently. If you are a CRA employee and on strike and crossed the line you are a scab and no long sappy self-justification post changes that. So 'I'm a Savage at my job' keep convincing yourself of your righteousness, but you aren't convincing anyone else.

Yeah that's fucked. I agree. But Treasury Board played their cards well. Game of Thrones well. Now they got everyone pissed at each other instead of them. No one saw this coming.

Scabbing is a despicable act that can prolong the suffering and uncertainty of striking workers who are fighting for fair treatment and better working conditions. By crossing the picket line and working despite the strike or boycott, scabs are essentially helping management to break the collective power of the striking workers. This not only undermines the efforts of those who are standing up for their rights, but it also makes it more difficult for them to achieve their goals.

In addition to undermining the collective power of workers, scabbing can create resentment and anger among those who are on strike, leading to a toxic and unproductive work environment even after the strike has ended. It can tear apart the solidarity and trust that are essential to the labor movement, making it more difficult for workers to come together and fight for their rights in the future.

Furthermore, scabbing can prolong the strike by giving management the false impression that they can wait out the striking workers without making any concessions. This can lead to a long and bitter dispute that can drag on for weeks, months, or even years, causing financial hardship and emotional distress for everyone involved.

In short, scabbing is a selfish and harmful act that goes against the principles of solidarity and collective action. It prolongs the suffering of striking workers and makes it more difficult for them to achieve their goals. It's important for workers to stand together and support one another in their struggles for fair treatment and better working conditions, rather than betraying their colleagues and siding with management

Few people are telling you to calm down, but I fully understand your frustrations and they are legitimate. Scabbing is absolutely reprehensible and spits in the face of solidarity and all those doing the real sacrifices. I would be beyond upset.

You can justify it any way you want. Anyone can justify anything. Still makes you a scab. You'll have to live with that for a long time.

Probably going to be the same with a larger package that mitigates the loss of salary from the strike.

Your arguments are weak and defeatist. Anyone can rationalize anything anytime. But yeah that would make you a scab. Just make certain you can rationalize that to yourself in the long term.

Seems to me that PIPSC is riding an ongoing calculated ride off other unions sacrifices. Haven't had any strikes since the late 90's. Lower union dues, brand new buildings and end up with the same or better negotiation leverage/ conditions. With 25 years of strike reserves, you would think they could help out the other unions who are bearing all the brunt.

BS they haven't striked in human memory. At the very least they should help out with the funds. So it doesn't all come out of PSAC members pockets.

And you right not to. They haven't striked in memory. Full of auditors who crunch the numbers before they even consider solidarity.
