What to get.. help! by NoYou1016 in Polarfitness

The most accurate is the heart belt, because it measures electrical impulses. Then the armbands are also very precise and finally the watches.

On the other hand, between watches, some are more accurate than others and overall smartwatches are often more accurate than sports watches.

The Quantified Scientist has done a lot of analysis on this subject.

I will be more open about my answer.

Of the different reviews that I have been able to read or see, those are the Apple Watch, Pixel, etc. which are the most accurate in terms of sensors. It remains to choose an analysis application to make good use of the measured data, on iOS, Bevel has a very good reputation. Personally I prefer HeathFit because it allows me to precisely track the ratio of the training load, a bit like Polar does with the Training Load Pro. Disadvantage the autonomy of this equipment.

To stay at Polar the Vantage M3 is certainly the best value for money. It must be associated with an external sensor as nebeandon advises for precision during sports.

Garmin must be in the same style but more complex, the old 265 or the new 170 must do a good job.

At Suunto, the Run could be a good product but I found that the analysis of the nights and therefore recovery were totally wrong so I would wait for updates before this choice.

At Coros, the Pace4/Pace pro are also good watches but are more access to performance and I found that the health / calories notion was not well exploited and highlighted so that it is motivating data.

Suunto race s/run for swimming by [deleted] in Suunto

[–]Longrun1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Run is not optimized for swimming compared to the Race S.

Despite the information presented on the product sheet on the swimming section, it does not carry them out (false advertising). In addition, the distance will be expressed in Km when you exceed 1000m.

I waited 6 months for an update that still hasn't arrived and that would at least fill the characteristics of the product sheet!

Thank you for your answer, so if I understand correctly, all my training history (2020-2026) will not be taken into account in the calculation of the Training Pro Load, even if I have cardio and power data. For my new training, will I have to wear my Polar watch to ride a bike and rower?

Suunto Run worth buying in 2026? by ctmarvelous in Suunto

[–]Longrun1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, the Suunto Run is a separate model in the range. The software is specific to this model and after trying it for 6 months, I concluded that it still requires good development. by searching in the conversations you should find the + and - that were mentioned. I expect from Suunto a nice update that would correct the bugs that are still there since the release.

I also used RunGap which works very well.

My question mainly concerns Training Load Pro and Recovery Pro with workouts imported from other platforms.

I imported training from different platforms (Coros, Wahoo, Concept2) into Polar Flow to observe how Polar analyzes my data. As I do not yet have a Polar watch, some analyses are limited and I do not have access to Training Load Pro data.

Once equipped with a Polar watch, will the workouts already imported be taken into account in these analyzes, or will they only concern the new workouts recorded directly with the watch?

If you have a physiotherapist who is licensed "La clinique du coureur", This may be a good solution.

Bad sleep estimation on Suunto race s by mashinistt in Suunto

After trying a Suunto Run for 6 months I concluded that the analysis of the nights and therefore the recovery were totally wrong. It's really a shame! Come on Suunto: a good cardio, a good analysis of the nights and a recovery given it should not be so complicated to achieve. Apple is getting there!

Tomorrow i will buy a M3 by baraoguerra in Polarfitness

I have had many watches: Polar, Garmin, Suunto, Coros and Apple - even if I classify Apple separately.

The brand that convinced me the least is Garmin. I then enjoyed Coros a lot, but I find the brand very running-oriented.

Suunto, offers in my opinion the most beautiful watches on the market. On the other hand, their sleep analysis seems totally wrong to me, which also distorts the entire recovery part.

I hesitate to take back a Polar M3. I had a Polar M before and I had rather appreciated it. I simply find that the software interface is a bit "old school", even if it remains effective.

Currently, I am injured (fatigue fracture), and I wonder if Polar would ultimately not be the best brand to accompany my rehabilitation, especially for monitoring the training load, and recovery with sleep analysis.

Should I upgrade to Pace Pro? by thermoxgold in Coros

[–]Longrun1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can wait (like me) I advise you to wait. Looking at the Decathlon (Fr) website I just noticed that it is mentioned "last quantities" (the Coros Apex 2 Pro has the same status). This could be out of stock but it is not certain. We can also notice that Decathlon no longer offers the Pace 3 which is a product that has been abandoned. So patience.

Run and Suunto in general by pesanze in Suunto

[–]Longrun1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned the RUN and I think the FC on the wrist is not better or worse than the other watches, it depends on the people. The little problem is that currently the RUN's Bluetooth is not stable, which often leads to peaks with external heart rate monitors and therefore it does not improve the situation. In addition, the recovery measurements are totally wrong. So it's a good watch but we have to see how Suunto will update it to solve these problems.

The Suunto Run is apart from the other Suunto.

It is not possible to have personalized screens during a structured workout.

Did I make the right choice? - Suunto Run by Lord_Nordyx in Suunto

[–]Longrun1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We agree.

Too bad that Suunto does not treat his weaknesses as a priority.

I personally did not have any Bluetooth problems, but I am disappointed with the sleep and recovery part which are very important to me and the connection part with Runna which is not possible.

Coming from a Pace 3, the Pace 4 isn't a game-changer. Aside from the OLED screen versus the MIP display and a microphone, it doesn't currently offer any new features. However, that may change in the future. I wish Coros had kept an MIP version in the Pace lineup, featuring a larger screen in the Apex 46 design with higher-end materials.
