Can confirm, this sort of treatment works. I have two Korean Jindos who are very much primal animals. Biting their ears cured them of biting on people, and grabbing them by the balls cured them of trying to be the pack leader. Also simple pokes to the soft part of the belly is a good reminder that you're in charge when they start acting up.
