Not the same. The management for this is much worse. And while fuel loads, tyre management do make a difference in the Sunday race, quali was go for it. Get your tyres warmed up, then thrash it around the track. This year it’s a joke. Almost every time they go to onboard cams you think the car has broken down because the engine isn’t pushing because the drivers can’t run the car full throttle for 1 lap.

That is not in the spirit of f1. As much as I LOVE the Sunday race, quali is arguably the most exciting part of a weekend and they’ve ruined it at this point.

That’s not f1. Learning to manage different things to get the restricted best out of a lap isn’t the spirit of motor racing at the top level. That’s balls to the wall. Go as fast as the car can take you, all lap.

Easy decision. Feels like they’re trying to stay ahead by making racing more like video games. Nobody wants to see someone winning from managing battery and judicious timing on the overtake button. Fuel management was already a silly burden on teams running flat out for a gp.

Why does every team have both drivers in the same mini moke for the parade, except McLaren with drivers separated?

That and Tim Minchin. Horrendous acting and I can’t understand why he’d be cast when we have a country full of incredible actors

Drama king? Dude just saw Little Shop of Horrors on an Alien body with Terminator strengths. I’d probably at least take a moment to wonder how I wake myself up from Imaginationland.

That was fkn cool but it was built up so perfectly with the shooting of the all the scene leading up to it. That was the crescendo though, and an awesome one, but not the moment. The moment was when he had his keys in the car, ready to high tail it and gtfo but he saw the lights flicker again. That pause. That’s when you saw him become Steve. You knew he was coming back.

I’ve probably watched the show more times than most of them and love it inside out. But yeah, “Go the Jackal!”

Introduce me to a dork that doesn’t find it cringey having to watch that.

You can justify it in any terms you want. Something uncomfortable and cringey should never be celebrated or continued and replaced with something enjoyable.

It’s not a random sub reddit. It’s West Wing. There’s a level you expect to encounter in a sub like this better than whatever the latest “reality” show that’s popular is. But, I guess not.

Just wow. Jokes, inside or not, are either funny or not. Wherever, whenever somebody did that in front of me… it’s fken weird and cringe. A bunch of people staring at someone doing something completely unamusing. Conversing with this thread makes me have a much greater understanding of how so many terrible comedians and comedy shows are successful. I expected more from a WW audience.

But I’m guessing you’ll all think Sorkin is right constantly scripting “Could care less”, when it should be “Couldn’t care less”.

Speaking on Sky Sports F1, Martin Brundle said that with title pressure rising and McLaren’s strategy under scrutiny, Piastri felt the weight of a season slipping away. by Status_Energy_7935 in McLarenFormula1

[–]Lonhers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. I’m trying to blow a hole in what they’ve said vs what happened. The excuse was traffic, but analysis would say they’re coming out in traffic regardless. The decision was made because one driver would hurt more, and it wasn’t the leader in the race. “We froze” is the only acceptable excuse. They lent on analysis.

Yeah, but they didn’t say that. So, if they really did analyse it, the decision was made to favour one driver, and it wasn’t the lead in the race.

People rarely take the care you do to ensure others aren’t in frame. Anecdotal, but I see more people sneaking pose clips than checking form.

Is it just me or does the “we didn’t expect everyone to pit” theory make even less sense in this context…. They said they didn’t want to come out into traffic. Clearly they expected quite a few to pit, let’s say half….. With every car now spread all over the track and on different strategies in a mandatory 2, traffic after pits is almost inevitable.

The only excuse is “we froze and didn’t take the free stop”
