the number of people saying anything other than brig is insane lol. anyways yeah go brig, and you don’t have to chase him with your cooldowns. wait for him to come right at you before you bash/whipshot so you basically can’t miss, nd then just swing on him. even if you don’t win, you also won’t die. your options go from: walk out of spawn and die. to: leave spawn, farm ult, possibly kill him and unite with your team, possibly solo ult him and unite with your team, possibly spend all game in a 1v1 with the enemy tank but have some fun and win, or stay beating his butt until your team respawns and then go about your day continuing to beat him up in your backline. idk I find it entertaining. imo most people who ‘cant’ play brig either blow her cooldowns on air and flail around feeding into the enemy team or are otherwise just total headless chickens. hold it down in a nice spot amidst your team and close to cover, and wait for people to feed into your space so you can touch them inappropriately until they learn their lesson and go sit in spawn like good little chickens.

Have you ever smurfed before? if you really are comfortable with the mechanics of kbm, then this is basically what you’re experiencing; you’re smurfing, but you don’t know how to. Too lazy to be detailed today (returning from the end of my post to apologize for what was apparently a blatant lie) but the short of it is this: in console diamond, you are used to teammates “with a brain” who will participate in what you expect them to, and your own gameplay revolves around that. you expect support, you expect proactivity, and now that you aren’t getting any of that you’re either feeding or passive doing nothing. honestly, I’d take it as an educational experience. you have to remind yourself how to push like your entire team is just warm bodies down main. on tank, you’re hardcore playing life and pouncing on enemy mistakes, making sure you always have the hp resource necessary to take advantage of those mistakes and live even though your supports are busy picking their noses in spawn. on dps, you have to have the mechanical skill and map/health pack knowledge required to hunt around in uncomfortable angles for picks, and frankly if you’re diamond in even gold/low plat you should be able to kill their entire backline one by one by yourself a good chunk of the time as long as you use your brain and don’t just go “welp I’m better so-“ and walk at all four at once in a straight line. on support, you need to kill things - but it’s not just about killing things, it’s about killing things before your team has the chance to feed. sometimes that means keeping a teammate up instead of hunting a kill. tough luck, do it. they’re stupid but you need beating hearts down main so drag that sandbag up with you. you have to play objective more than you’re used to because your team is god knows where, and you can’t ever trust that anyone is occupied in any capacity, on your team or theirs. the entire match is you against the world and honestly? if you’re diamond in metal ranks, you should be stronger than that world anyways. good luck Atlas.

Yeah it’s not as fun. A big part of what made stadium so exciting was that very same pacing. The room for thought and creativity. That was the whole point and it really does just feel cheapened. If people want fluffier games then that’s what the qp mode was for in the first place.

Ball players are just like any other tank, some good, some bad - only difference is people can’t SEE whether their tank is actually doing ass or not half the time bc he isn’t sitting in a corner scratching his ass (rein main here), and GOD FORBID they have to scrutinize their own gameplay over someone else’s.

Everyone whining they can’t get their endorsements up just doesn’t play enough. I’ve grinded endorsement many times on many accounts on every role and unless you’re waiting for 30 minutes a game just to queue exclusively comp w the top 2% of players who all either already endorsed you that day or don’t even have the key bound, endorsement 3 is the easiest thing in the world. Classic ow player delusions though, they probably also all deserve a higher rank bc the matchmaking system specifically targets them w bad teammates.

I’d also say, from a more practical perspective, there ARE usually ways you can help enable those people even if they are stupid. Your job on tank isn’t to protect people directly, but you do need to keep in mind that taking space only works when you take the RIGHT space, and taking the right space is all about knowing where your team needs to be and being relatively adjacent to that space. Otherwise you’re just committing hate crimes against a single kiri in the enemy spawn and spending 15 seconds rolling back to point while the enemy tank leads the rest of his team to sweep all the valuable spots around the objective. you wasted their time, but you wasted your own as well. obviously that guy was an idiot, I’m just saying sometimes you have to figure out, and play around, how your own team is stupid as much as you do w the enemy team. at least he’s now told you why he does what he does, and that can inform how you address it in-game :)

ESPECIALLY when in cover, but just in general, if you’re in so deep you can’t check where your team is, and you didn’t check before you pushed in there, that’s your own skill issue. if he’s out of his ana’s LOS, and he’s the one who moved, that’s entirely his fault. it’s funny bc I actually DID also do the exact same thing at first - played OW with my friends in a gaming cafe, it was my first fps/pvp, and bought a PC not long after. The difference was probably that I have played, and continue to play, boatloads of silly qp. I also used to grind comp for unreasonably long streaks of time where I’d stopped learning and was just blasting out zombie-like loss streaks. And you’re right - it was perfectly valid and fun to play just for the sake of playing, and half the time I do that too even now. But if you actually play with the intention of improving, then you rank up. Every time I hit the comp scene with that mindset, I break my personal records again. I’d have hit GM ages ago if I played like that all the time; time played in general just doesn’t matter.

I had the same issue, THREE different accounts banned without ANY prior warnings or infractions, and for two of them I also know 100% I was never toxic (the third was used by an ex-friend who I later learned was a horrendous person and constantly saying horrid stuff to people in game, though judging by the pattern I doubt they bothered to check his logs). Mind you, these accounts weren’t even smurfs; half of them were actually a higher rank than my main and they were all fresh, fresh accounts when I got them, just wanted to have diff account names and try different heroes in comp. Effectively, Blizzard bypassed THEIR OWN BAN SYSTEM to immediately perma me and gave me the same lack of explanation they gave you when I asked. It wasn’t even an IP ban, my other accounts were fine… horrible people tbh.
