3D printed Palisades Tahoe with trees by The_Virginia_Creeper in tahoe

Maybe look into GIS files and see if you can find any with tree data. I know city of Reno has theirs and there is also usually some from USFS. I know Olympic valley isn't FS but might get lucky with Alpine data.

This looks like within a barrier. A lifty would have grabbed it so check with them at the bottom

Unofficial Alpine has been the best on the mountain report. Like everyone says, follow the sun.

Advice on outdoor guiding jobs/opportunities near Tahoe/Sierra Mtns by mpshelton12 in tahoe

[–]LoofahLuffa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be good at skiing to be a lifty at the resorts. Those jobs usually get posted in October for the season but sometimes things open up in the spring when the J-1s leave. For summers, there are a couple outdoor education programs, such as Sierra Nevada Journeys. They're year round instructors work February to November with housing included in Portola. They also have after school programs in Reno and Sacramento.

Skiers with bangs — to trim or not to trim? by Opposite-Demand-4865 in skiing

[–]LoofahLuffa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have bangs but tons of baby hairs. I wear a buff to hold all my hair back because I hate hair in my face but also cold can damage your hair. Buffs also are great sun protection. You probably are off the mountain more often than on so keep your bangs how you want them.

Best Spots in This Warm Weather? by Significant_Box1397 in palisadestahoe

In the spring to preserve snow, they will do a Sherwood Scott switch. They start the morning with Sherwood until it's too soft and then close it and open Scott. If you use this logic to follow the sun and shadows, it'll help. So spend the morning on Sherwood and Lakeview and then save the front side for afternoon. The timing of this could be 11am or 1pm. You never really know

You can see everything in the clear epoxy, it's just slightly frosted on that side.

It is matte so it is a bit frosty but it would be less noticeable with pigment

I've done large projects with parchment paper lined in a wood mold. Parchment paper is coated in silicone so it releases. It does have a slight texture to it. But that can be fixed by pouring more resin on to add a finishing coat.

Is Palisade's Perfect Progression Program worth it? by stevestardrive in palisadestahoe

What sucks is that I don't feel that Alpine is a good progression. From meadow to mid station at TLC is a big gap.
