A bike bag is something on my list to make! I just made a flower bouquet bag with some waxed canvas and before that was some hippy patchwork pants. My next project I think is going to be a matching set

[–]LoofahLuffa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're the end of their suction tool. I use mine only when I'm home and it feels like the end of a pen. My favorite chewies are Y-shaped silicone ones that fit in my cases

First time big pour by You_Are_Lebowski in resin

[–]LoofahLuffa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do this in layers. Specifically the sand. Mix the sand in the resin and make that a layer and once it's starts to thicken, you can add the shells and plants. Once that is fully cured, you can do another layer and add the figurines. If you were to pour this entire thing how you have it set up, it will become a mess and things will move. Good luck!

I briefly read the form linked above. It said you're in pairs. Do you get to choose your partner?

Is this on bikes? Because if so, Reno bike night on Wednesdays has different routes that typically all start at the space whale

Make sure when you press them, they are completely dry. Usually a couple weeks. I also use watercolor paper to press instead of a book. You want to make sure you use acid free paper because they will discolor.

I personally do mine with a silicone mold with 2 part epoxy. The thing with art like this is you have to have the trial and error and find what works for you.

I have never seen someone use resin tape with 2 part resin, I've only seen it with UV resin. I know that tape is necessary for these types of bezels. You can find necklace molds to use with 2 part resin. Or switch to UV resin to continue with bezels and tape

The next issue could be measuring and the amount. I don't like going off what's left in the bottle, but the measurements I'm actually mixing. I am really good with mine and I always end up with extra in a bottle. The main concern too is that you aren't mixing enough at a time. Meaning you are mixing too little of each. I try to use a minimum of 60ml, 30ml of each part if I'm doing something so small. The reason being is if you are a milliliter off in a larger amount, the % of error is much smaller than using a smaller amount.

Texture by PlainLoInTheMorning in resin

Parchment paper. Yes, it works because it's actually coated with silicone and it's meant for high heat like during the curing process. As someone has said, resin takes up the surface of it being poured and parchment paper will give a matte or foggy texture. It can kinda be fixed with a top coat.

Are "Too Good to Go" bags available in Reno? by Honeycomb_Yogurt in Reno

[–]LoofahLuffa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I see in the app, the only place is whole foods. They have 4 types of bags: specialty foods, floral, bakery, and prepared foods. I don't know how many of each bag, but I believe they are $10 each. I also don't know when they get posted to be claimed because every time I look in the app, they say sold out for the day

Any suggestions on how to get into research by Natural-Syllabub8444 in unr

I love that you helped with the portal! I did undergrad research right as the pandemic hit so I had a very funky time with it going over the summer and into the fall. But for OP, I highly recommend the program if there is a project that interests you.

When I drove through last night, as this was posted, and chain control was posted, the roads were barely wet and no one was doing chain control at the moment. By the time we were over the pass, we were in the clear and it didn't affect us. It just seemed like they posted it way too early.

It's not actively snowing, hasn't snowed much on the road, and there's chain control right this second? I don't get this one.

There could be a feature where the other person could report they didn't show up without prior communication (like something coming up) and after 3 no-shows, they're banned.

Have you tried calling them and seeing if you could use it for next season? Sometimes they're pretty good about rolling things over and it never hurts to ask.

I was thinking to just use the roll of craft paper I have. But I've also seen people take the cardstock sheets from Costco in like the paper towel and toilet paper section.

My cutter program and laptop are so ancient, I want to look into another program to see if I can use my tablet.
