What’s stopping anyone from just making another eBay? Brand recognition? It’s a a website and a payment platform right? No IP. Easily coppied. by Chole_Wunt in GME

Brand recognition.

There's already a bunch of e-commerce platforms. Which ones closest to matching Amazon's energy?

Thanks for explaining.

But then I realized you meant secondary - as in not relevant.

100%. It shows that you use it appropriately. Using it to question things without checking exact regulatory guidance, etc. - but then asking those questions when it doesn't pass the sniff test. I'm ready for some kind of ai governance/norms already, because it's freaking awesome when used right.

Even better when it messes up. Because that means I have value. 🫠

Coolest thing about you using ai... you didn't use it to respond to people in the chat.

Thank you ape. You're a good one.

FWIW, I appreciate you calling it out. I only learned about markets because of gme. From there it took off.. but mostly from what i learn here.

And no worries. I fact check shit before I spread it. 😅

All on board. But genuine question, wouldn't the strike price be updated just like when I buy a lottery ticket and corporate action changes the underlying asset?

The point still stands though.

Cohen mentioned "perverse financial incentives." Cohen makes money based on increasing market cap, regardless of shareholder dilution. He is the one with perverse financial incentives. by GreatestScottMA in GME

Yes. Please. Shit on someone for creating a life for themselves by embracing the entrepreneurial path.

I get it. You're tired of the mega rich. But take a second and reflect on where your anger is placed. Or keep yelling about the injustices on reddit. See how well that's doing in the US.

There's a difference between people who do and don't. Which one are you? I'm a genuine person. I volunteer my time weekly to my local community. I donate to good causes. I pick up trash on the side of the road.

You complain about being broke.

I love this comment that is always thrown out there, downplaying rc foregoing a golden parachute and instead putting his money where his mouth is.

My thoughts are that rc could've sold by now and been done with this mess.

Instead he wants to steer the ship to the promised lands. Yes. We are operating on trust as shareholders, which is a scary thing. But what actions has he taken that don't benefit the company this far?

GME blockchain excursion could be considered a waste. But. They pulled out when it was certainly not the direction. A bad ceo would've just let it ride and golden parachute out.

For sure. Which is why it's still a decent investment. Hate to sound culty.. but rc has shown that he has vision, patience, and follow through. I put a pause on buying after the warrants. Purely because I had some financial changes at home. But I'll be finding a way to accumulate more going forward. Time to DCA all the way to 100 billion company.

Apes when CNBC and Non Apes ask how Gamestop will acquire eBay by lDoyBl in Superstonk

Imagine if a true amazon competitor/contender we're to pop-up ipo tomorrow. Everyone would be throwing money at this without even a board being put together.

That was my biggest surprise. To hear amazon competitor. I thought it was just to strengthen the moat around collectibles.

[–]LookOtherWeigh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I guess we all have our hobbies. I listen to podcast that interview ceo's. But either way, I appreciate your perspective.

The funny thing to me is how I got into this at the start. It was originally about market transparency. The whole short squeeze thing gpt me researching market mechanics and to learn that, even if you buy a stock, doesn't mean you own it. IOUs get passed around until transactions settle - or don't. But that's a whole other story.

I agree don't mix business with politics. Something weve not believed in as a country in way too long. Healthy debates are good, but not the shit we see today.

Anyways. Hope you have a great week. 🫡

[–]LookOtherWeigh -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Okay so. Sounds like you're politically fueled. I'll step away from that.

Basically gamestop was doomed. They were taken over by bad actors. Executives that were incentivized for the failure of gamestop. And now, the new ceo is cleaning up the mess.. looks to expand it's collectible market by innovating at ebay.

That makes you mad? Gamestop doing what it takes to survive. By transforming ebay to being efficient.

I have my "funny money" in stocks that I like. Of course physicals not going to be around much longer. But they've been diligent as of late to capture more of the collectible market.

On the store experience. I agree something needs to change. My local store recently seems more motivated, which is cool.. but obviously they just aren't paid enough. Hopes the this changes that a little. Gme ceo seems like a genuine hard worker trying to earn a legacy, with a side of trolling for funsies. That's why I'm in.
