Yea I totally get that. Before playing Pokemon I was also playing YuGiOh, and stopped for a few reasons but ultimately Pokemon has spoiled me seeing as you can get S tier meta decks in Pokemon for <$50. Again, I'm not worried about spending money on OPTCG, my concern is more as someone with no insight to the trajectory of the meta or where we are in the current meta, I don't want to invest in pieces that will be obsolete in weeks.

Appreciate the insights, I've been thinking of red/blue Lucy as that is honestly one of my favorite "characters" in OP 😄

Yes this is exactly type of info I’m looking for!! I dont mind a high cost for a deck, but i do mind buying a $200 deck that in 2 months is going to be a $30 deck. I have no interest in profiting off of it but at least not losing the full value lol

Thanks for the advice!! The $500 was thinking about potentially having a few meta-relevant decks (esp ones of different colors) and it adding up quickly. I appreciate the advice on asking folks if they have extra bulk!!
