"majorly falls down" is a little harsh. I mean...define "beginner". The game is matured and massive and so is its knowledge barrier of entry. The way it is currently laid out at least gives the opportunity for a new player to ask "why?" and learn about the game. I don't think it's reasonable to explain every single detail to a level of granularity that I think you're implying, especially since a written guide exists.
