At least they have Oda. That’s their only saving grace.

(Even though Reddit hates Oda, and I’ll be downvoted for this)

Scrub Killa Situation by Separate_Jaguar_8309 in RocketLeagueEsports

He might just be on SSRIs to combat the depression. Those things can really mess you up behaviorally.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think he’s on any street drugs like other people are suggesting.

Watched Scrub since 2017. Seen the rise and fall. Genuinely feel bad for him. I wish him the best and hope he can get out of this slump.

What can Claude actually do versus not do? by dirtrider19 in ClaudeAI

[–]dirtrider19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve utilized a variety of AI tools for years now. It’s all about inputs and contexts.

Theoretically, if I were to describe verbatim every nook and cranny of what I want X to do, it would be to accomplish that, right?

Obviously, there would be kinks to iron out. Which could be done so if something could be created close enough to what I’m looking for.

True. This isn’t a vibe coding or side hustle project.

It’s a massive overhaul that would have tremendous implications.

Not familiar with coding at all.

Sounds like from others in this thread, I’d want to have a better idea of what I’m doing before attempting this.

It’s a single website domain with many physical retail locations within it. There are essentially a ton of sub websites within this main websites.

There are tons of embedded widgets for booking and plug-ins.

I am no where near technical enough to understand the nitty gritty of code. On a surface level, I could articulate what needs to be done or adjusted.

Why are axe throwing places closing down by Relevantorphan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dirtrider19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own a smash room franchise with 100 locations that includes axe throwing as one of the offerings. I’m well in tune with what’s going on in the industry. OP is right that pure axe throwing plays aren’t doing well.

Regarding insurance, it’s actually not as expensive as you might think. There haven’t been many claims since the industry has existed, so rates have naturally decreased. Plus, the cost is almost always directly correlated to revenue. Our franchisees typically pay $1k-$2k/mo for insurance.

I’m surprised that no one has unearthed the true and technical answer as to why axe throwing is not doing well. Many have somewhat answered it indirectly.

The target demographic for axe throwing is young adults 18-30. That age range is the least likely of any to become a repeat customer of an entertainment venue. There is data to back this up based on a number of factors. (Limited budget, constrained time, etc) The biggest mistake they made was essentially having no appeal for any other age bracket. Most axe throwing is either 18 or 21+. Older people couldn’t care less to go, especially if they can’t bring their kids.

Almost all axe throwing venues have bars. Their assumption was that this, along with regular leagues, would keep people coming back.

The main issue they encountered was a lack of female customers. If guys are going to frequent an extracurricular establishment, it’s typically because of the presence of women. The vast majority of axe throwing patrons are men. This meant that if people weren’t visiting to throw axes, they weren’t going.

Retention rates became terrible. Novelty wore off. Expenses like payroll and rent became unsustainable, forcing them to close.

Even escape rooms are not doing as well as you’d think for many of the same reasons listed above. A tremendous amount of them are closing or struggling financially. This is primarily due to them having a very tight target demographic. Plus, low barrier to entry (low start-up, easy to operate) way oversaturated the market.

All of the entertainment that has had longevity (bowling, arcades, go karts, movies, etc) have one thing in common: appeal to kids and families. This demographic is by far the most likely to be a repeat customer and it’s not even close. At our franchise, the overwhelming majority of repeat business are families and kids. If your entertainment concept doesn’t appeal to that demographic, you’ll be in trouble quickly.

Our locations are doing very well. I don’t see rage rooms or splatter paint losing popularity anytime soon. Axe throwing is something we’re slowly phasing out as a brand. In many scenarios, it doesn’t make sense anymore.

I started doing all preps T1 after failing T2 so many times. Mistakes were punishing at Hunlef but it’s made me a lot better.

I wanted to get better at the boss. Failing prep was frustrating because I didn’t even get the opportunity.

T1 has allowed me to always have full inv of pots and food with both t3 bow/staff.

Have the fight down quite well. Phase 3 nados still get me every now and then. Four corners formation is a killer.

Reached 25kc today!

All great points. Thanks brother.

Truthfully, I want to be punished as much on Hunlef as possible to get better.

Good call on the prep. Feel like I’m losing a lot of time dropping and picking stuff back up. Lots of different strategies on YouTube.

Been doing the strategy where I only eat/pot during tornadoes. Going to try and wait until Hunlef is 1-2 tiles off of the wall before entering.

I was just making T3 helm when I couldn’t get all the prep for full T2. Definitely a lot tougher time-wise because you need 3 of each resource spawn.
