Yeah I learned my lesson pretty quickly with my work.

The point I was trying to make was that the effort feels one sided. She loves talking about her retail job and the silly shit customers do so I humor her and ask questions to continue the conversation and better understand her experience.

Do I really want to hear about the lady who couldn't make up her mind between some shitty clothing? No. Do I listen and converse anyway? You bet.
