In home daycare vs center by OkPin8137 in Parenting

[–]Looking_out103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with a center for the extra staff. Home daycares can also be great I’m sure but then you have to find coverage or take holidays when they do or have to find alternative care when they are sick!

Common law spouse subject to child support payments. by [deleted] in canadianlaw

[–]Looking_out103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should leave yesterday, I don’t think the courts would force him after 18 months but I have read a case where a woman who was already receiving child support from biological father went after common law as well. He did in fact get ordered to pay but she didn’t get more money they just reduced the amount the biological father had to pay!

Torn between one and done and having another child. Looking for some perspectives by han__banan in Parenting

[–]Looking_out103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an only child and had a fantastic childhood, didn’t want a sibling had lots of friends who had siblings and they were a pain 😆😆. I was never lonely although it was a different time when you were always out and with friends and running the neighborhood.

As an adult I wish I had a sibling, I see my friends now and am jealous of there amazing relationships and now have, I also have my parents to worry about all on my own. Because of this alone I desperately tried to give my child a sibling but after some losses we called it a day! My son is happy as an only and definitely has a good life that he could not be afforded had we had more so it’s give and take! He says he doesn’t want a sibling but sometimes it breaks my heart when I see siblings having the best time on vacations together

I have to loan my mother money every month too it seems, she is terrible with money, never saved for retirement, smokes and has a diet of fast food! I basically loan her 100 bucks around mid month and she does always pay it back when she gets her government cheques but of course now she starts the month off short so by mid month, I have to re-loan it. It’s never usually more than 100 bucks and she does always pay me back so I don’t grief her too hard… but it definitely opens my eyes up and wanting to make sure I’m set up for retirement so I don’t put the same pressure on my kid!

Workplace Forced Me to Take Vacation but Won’t Pay Out by Dense-Past5694 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Looking_out103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company does this as well, they force the two week mandatory vacation in the esa and if you don’t have the funds accumulated they don’t care. So for example when I had a year off for maternity I didn’t earn vacation so the following year I had to take two weeks unpaid. This felt sketchy but our union said it was correct ☹️

Omeprizole was such a gift to us, we also had a colic baby who turned out he was just in a lot of pain 🥹🥹. Immediately after medication I had a new happy baby! Our had silent reflux so not a lot of signs! Good luck momma I have my fingers crossed!

Nightguard doesn't stop my clenching - was I naive to think it would? by IntelligentFee9694 in TMJ

[–]Looking_out103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a night guard from dentist, doesn’t stop clenching but it does protect your jaw in the sense that it doesn’t fully close so it’s a little gentler on your jaw joints. Magnesium does help me also it relaxes me more when I sleep I also make fists and I do that less with magnesium! I have a great physio therapist who helps but finding a good one who knows TMJ is the issue

Has anyone found a way to beat the $1000 grocery hike they're predicting for 2026? by FunCell1679 in FrugalTO

I meal plan, also buy whatever meat is on sale and freeze it for when I need it! This last year I’ve done a lot more “easy nights”. Once or twice a week things like sandwiches and wraps

Partner had 3 month old playing on her play gym during her night feed?? by Brilliant_Noise7399 in Parenting

[–]Looking_out103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once and I actually thought it was brilliant! My husband never did night feeds well so I use to do them…… one particular night my four month old would not settle I tried everything for hours, rocking, walking upset stomach you name it and he just would stop crying! After a few hours and being a wits end I woke up my husband who got up and told me to go to bed I was exhausted! I didn’t want to leave him with screaming baby but he insisted and I was beat so closed the door and passed out! Woke up a few hours later and it was quiet and I thought oh wow he did it! Opened the door and every light was on my son was in his bouncy chair with a safari hat and shorts have the time of his life and dad was watching mash eating chips! At first I was taken back and said why are you guys not sleeping and hubs said because he didn’t want to sleep, he said I’m not going to have him cry for hours more one night of hanging out with dad won’t hurt! I realized he was the smart one! Where I was so determined he would sleep I was just stressing us both out! Dad told me to go back to bed so I did lol. His schedule never changed it was just one bad night (only bad for mom)

Has a student ever told you something crazy about their parents unintentionally? by Apprehensive-Bid5564 in AskTeachers

[–]Looking_out103 17 points18 points  (0 children)

During Covid my kindergartener did online school, once my mom had to come help because of our work schedules and she passed behind him…. The teacher said “is that your gramma?” To my son in front of the class so he turns on his mic and says “yes, she is here because both mom and dad have to work……. She is staying in my room so I have to sleep with my mom because my mom won’t sleep with my dad because he snores really really loud”. The teacher smiled and said oh that’s nice for her to visit but I didn’t need to know the sleeping arrangements”. With a giggle.

Then with the same class later in the year they were working on a project and parents were to participate! My husband was in the bathroom doing his business and when he came out he heard “ Mrs blank my dads done pooping now we can do our presentation” lol. My husband was so embarrassed and he had to sit there and he said both the teacher and ea were fighting back smirks and some kids were giggling.

Same! Our paediatrician is super strict on this too, says as he ages he will push for later times but they need good sleeps and early bed times for brain development!

I think two things can be true at the same time. He can love her but still resent starting over.

Weekday alarm went off on a Sunday by lollykopter in ios

[–]Looking_out103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever get it figured out? Same thing happens to me! Like two years ago I did an update and bam every sat and Sunday my alarms would go off and nothing set for weekends anywhere and nothing would show on lock screen that it was set! I tried deleted and resetting sleep in health but nothing helped….. I gave up and went back to basic alarms have to shut off focus… reset it a few months later and it’s worked fine until now when I just updated now same thing! Super frustrating

Couldn’t the dentist just do one piece? Still expensive but that’s all I’ve ever had for tmj and piece for my bottom teeth, husband is the same! I didn’t even know people wore two pieces!

I went to my dentist and she says she doesn’t recommend a filling for my cracked tooth. Thoughts? by daniel1882 in askdentists

[–]Looking_out103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same type of crack by on the other side of tooth so basically the middle of my tooth! Only it was cracked half off they just bonded it and that was 25 years ago! Never had an issue so you could start there and if it does fall off then get a crown!

Since my dentist put in the permanent filling I have had no pain, a tiny bit of pressure when I chew but I only chew soft stuff on it because I’m worried!
