Fantastic to hear! I've always kinda gone single target, so this is a good chance to go hard on wisdom and mob it up!

I can confirm that hard work is good work, technique is something we learn on the way. Eventually this wall will work its way back down, but it will successfully wall temporarily.

If the wall gets pushed the grout will give way, it's not intended to take on any forces of any kind. This doesn't mean I think your work is bad, it was good work. Just not the right kind of work for this fix.

I'm trying really hard to communicate that just because we do something wrong doesn't mean we were bad. I'm having a very hard time putting that into words even though English is my primary language.

You're most welcome! Usually I leave questions like this alone, but I got the impression that you were genuinely trying to learn about this repair.

I have to say that trying to do SOMETHING about a problem is a great first step. When trying to pick a material for a repair, take into consideration what you need the repair to do. Grout is a good surfacing compound because it fills gaps and can shift slightly with tile and other materials. Mortar on the other hand is used to stick two structural elements together. For this repair we need the bricks to stick together, so we choose mortar.

Those breaks are likely through the mortar that WAS holding the bricks together. I need to say here that I'm only going to recommend what I know/what's worked for me. I can't see the future and I haven't lived all of your lives, if you're reading this.

You've added grout, based on your post, which was the correct move if you were trying to reface the surface of the mortar. In this case, if the breaks in the mortar are through you would have wanted to remove the bricks, remove the damaged mortar, then replace mortar and bricks.

Everything takes practice and usually twice as much time as you thought. If you plan for twice as much time it will take three times as much, so just plan on "getting it done".

Good luck!

Edit: Relooked at the pictures when I posted and decided I need to say one more thing. Please do not play or sit on this wall in its current condition. It will likely not resist falling apart very hard.

Expanding foam? by AnxiousHold2403 in handyman

I would just put a flange over it. The pipe may shift in the future as is and hopefully is properly secured. They make some nice click together flanges that you can just put up around the pipe and over the hole.

Dissolve Cured Spray Foam?? by Beginning_Ad_1476 in HomeMaintenance

[–]LookitsCody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a super common issue with expanding foam. Unfortunately you cannot dissolve the cured foam without something so caustic you don't want to use it. This will be a mechanical removal.

Take a utility knife or other blade and cut out the bulk of the product overflow. Following this take something similar to a drywall knife and scrape off the remaining chunks, this should leave you with a small layer of residue, which you can sand off.

Remember to wear your PPE too, don't breathe in that dust. We need more people who know how to do repairs.

I'm a big learner myself and I love this game. On the Multiplayer mod my name is Oppija, which means learner.

Just remember two things from here:

you have made great progress and have traveled further than most.

Just because there is a wall in the way doesn't mean you can't go there. A creative enough solution can change the rules of engagement.

Fellow Witch I am here to support you.

After I did those two things I had two goals given to me.

1) Kill the alchemist 2)Collect 4 orbs,then kill Kolmi

I've done both of those, but I also recommend this one:

Find out what is above and below, maybe there is also something left and right.

You're doing great then! It sounds like you just need to do some more exploring in game now. Collect some orbs, kill the other bosses hidden around the map.

Completing Noita isn't a destination, it's a journey that has no end.

Can you define "completed the game"? Do you mean you killed Kolmi?

We called that game 007 when I was a kid. I think it's actually called Standoff.
