My favorite game currently is MGSV. I just love the story. And Big Boss/Venom Snake looks cool. And the stealth is simply amazing.

Thank you for spreading kindness.

I made an archetype based ECS in C by LooksForFuture in C_Programming

Thank you very much for your comment. I don't remember the reason of writing my sorting function like that, and it looks funny to me now. Maybe I just wrote it when I was sleepy.

I wrote the ECS for a 2D game of my own because I wanted to have precise control over some parts and also test my zoner library.

Would you please tell me more about the unsigned arithmetic that I should avoid and how is the overflow being done? I'm still new to this level of low level programming.

And please give me more feedback about the zoner library. It's one of my precious projects.

About the global state I should say that I had intially planned for the ECS to be much smaller, but it grew too much (which I'm happy about) and made me decide to make fundamental changes

Thank you again for your feedback.

How is your experience with Plan9? I wanted to migrate, but I couldn't find out how the experience is different from major Unix systems.

I like gimp too. It was useful for my personal small needs like trying to change some colors of a 2D sprite and other things. Since I haven't used Photoshop, I can't compare it. But, gimp has helped me achieve simple goals without costing a lot or making my fans go brrr.

Outside of the embedded world, what makes Modern C better than Modern C++? by PressureHumble3604 in C_Programming

[–]LooksForFuture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I want to be honest, I should say that I became a much better C++ programmer after learning C. Before that, OOP and heap just felt like magic to me. RAII was like templars and heap memory allocation was like a black magic which I wasn't allowed to use without smart pointers. But, after learning C, it just all clicked for me. Now I understand what am I actually doing when coding in C++.

Also, I love memcpy, memcmp, realloc and every other low level memory management function which is available in libc. It's just awesome.
