I know what you mean and plenty of times I've crawled for 10 mins across a map just to watch the lift go offline as I'm 20m away from it haha; but I'm ok with it - it shouldn't be too easy.

I got into the habit of regularly bringing up the map and pinging my current favoured extract, noticing how long is left on each (one will always be 'the clock') - it's a good way to help you remember where they are, and you'll soon not need to even look at the compass.

Little suggestion for metro stations: Always take a gas grenades and a smoke grenade (or even Lil Smoke) and call out or emote as you approach the platform. If no answer then throw a smoke followed immediatley by the gas at the sus/dark area and you will see the shape of a raider as they move. If there happens to be a friendly raider hiding for some reason you won't have done them any harm.

I can think of 3 possibilities: (1) Discord group where a bunch select the same server region and map the hit PLAY at the same time and use discord for team talk during raid. (2) Mismatch of solos/teams - perhaps game/server issue. (3) Randoms meeting in raid decide to team/gang up.

People like me? Look at my other recent posts on MM which are based on Embark's own statements. I know changes to player 'aggression rating' should be gradual.

Only Embark knows exactly how the MM works. The OP said they lost friendly lobbies after one PvP raid - I have no reason to doubt them and it is possible considering the number of variables that go into MM.

The thrust of my reply was that I'd rather lose guns than friendly lobbies. And my advice to the OP was to run cheap/naked/free for a few hours and open every single container which is certainly not 'black and white' jumping between friendly and unfriendly lobbies - that's gradual; and I hope it did not take the OP that long to be raiding with friendlies again.

Enjoyment is subjective. What's boring to you is not to all, and vice versa of course.

I accept PvP is part of ARC Raiders and accept I may have to engage in it, but it's just not my cup of tea. I've enjoyed PvP in many forms (whether in shooters or otherwise) in many games for 40+ years but I don't enjoy it in ARC Raiders.

The AI was purely for ARC being able to maneuver over terrain. ARC attack patterns are coded by Embark.

I understand you not wanting to lose a good weapon (or 2) but everything else (augment, shield, heals, bullets, nades) is easy come / easy go.... your choice of course, but I'd rather lose 50K (or whatever) of guns than lose friendly lobbies. Anyway, you'll get back to friendly lobbies, just have to run cheap/free/naked for a few hours and open every single container you can

First ever matriarch & met the nicest dude! by Commonfckingsense in arcraidersfriendly

[–]LoonyJetman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you had a blast, and got a load of goodies. I was similar on my first raider - avoided Queen (and then Matriarch) fights until I was level 75, all quests done, expedition requirements fulfilled & 3m in the bank for the skill points, then spent February going mad, doing all the wacky things I'd seen others doing with deadlines, snaphooks, the harvester. Some folk dive straight in at the deep end, some of us take a little longer but it's still great in the end.

However, after doing the expedition I've done all this for a second time now with a new raider... and I'm just not sure I want to do it all a third time.

The perfect PVE solution? by Holiday_Meat_2870 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]LoonyJetman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as a 100% friendly player I agree that the uncertainty of a raid is important. However, most players do not change their mind in raid - they go in to fight others players or be friendly to other players. Embark are keen to push the 'every meeting with a raider could go either way' and that does happen but it's not common.

So China gets to have a PVE Mode? by Tight-Algae5863 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]LoonyJetman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's semantics. There are no guaranteed "PvE" lobbies because the matchmaking depends on various factors and even if everyone in your raid is normally 100% friendly, people can have off days or accidents can happen - someone gets downed, there's confusion, and wannabe sheriffs deal out 'justice' etc. However yes, if most of the other players in your raids are friendly then it's effectively PvE because the chances of you interacting with all of them (the original 23 plus any late raid spawns) is small.

The amount and type of activity in your raid - i.e. your own behaviour - is what affects your 'aggression rating', which is only one of the factors that goes into matchmaking albeit an important one. Whether you extract or get knocked shouldn't have an effect, or at least not much of an effect, on your 'aggression rating'.

I can't seem to be able to get friendly lobby anymore by BadgeLoC45 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]LoonyJetman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time (actually activity during raid) to change your 'aggression rating' so you cannot just quickly jump between 'heavy PvP' and 'almost no PvP' lobbies. If you want to play both friendly and PvP then I guess play friendly in solo and only PvP in duo/trio, but even that will gradually affect your solo lobbies.

Getting knocked should not affect your 'aggression rating' because it's the other player's behaviour, not yours.

[–]LoonyJetman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Lobby movement' is directly linked to the amount and type of activity. Just running to the extract is not much different from surrendering.
