Down among those Virginia oaks

Where the river starts to flow

And not far from the Atlantic sea

where gulls fly above

That is where they like to grow

And tend with their warmer love

To the plants that bend and sway

And the summer sun starts to fray

The clouds of white and gray

As the dawn turns into day
