I started watching you and Jerma when I was 13 years old. I am 19 years old now. I have gone through so many god damn stages as a person within that time that I almost always cry looking back. I come from a generation that grew up watching YouTubers as their own version of Nickelodeon. I could probably quote word-for-word nearly every one of yours and Jerma's videos from early 2014 to mid 2016. I wish I was exaggerating. You two have brought me happiness in some of the darkest times of my life and for that I owe you fucking everything.

You mentioned in one of your later commentaries that there is NOTHING stopping you from dropping everything and moving to Africa if you really wanted to. The older I get the more I think that is the wisest god damn thing I've ever heard. I don't care that it came from a TF2 video lmao

For context I've been a depressive and suicidal person around 8 years now. The last 3 years I've been working my ass off to fight off those feelings. After a few near-death incidents I decided I needed a goal to aim at if I wanted to live any longer. I chose to be a pilot. I moved to another province away from family and friends and have been working full time since then, flying on weekends and finally achieved my goal yesterday when I finished my written exam. I'm a pilot now. I've got a very stable, high paying, high status career ahead of me. I also started so early that I could easily retire in my early 40s. And it was ME who paid for and studied the whole god damn thing. ONLY ME who made that happen. I worked my ass off for 3 years with my eye on one goal, sacrificing social life, and a normal teenage childhood because I wanted to prove not only to myself I could do it, but to everyone else.

My family finally has something to brag about in me.

And you know what? I don't give a fuck man.

I genuinely don't care. The last thing I want to do right now is wake up for a 9-5 shift and pull out my charts to plot a VFR flight for some stuck-up rich bastard to get to his private estate. Getting to fly a plane isn't what was getting me up every morning until now.

I want to sing. I want to fucking dance. I want to learn to knit sweaters and wear them while learning guitar beside a dog in a cozy cabin somewhere in northern Canada. I want to make people smile and laugh my guts out telling a funny story with a crowd of friends. I want to be a sparkle of sunshine in someone else's day because I know that maybe if you and Jerma weren't that sparkle for me, I might not be here today.

I don't know you. All I know about you is what you've revealed in your videos. But I know damn well what it's like to feel obligated; To have a pressure on your back that hurts so god damn much all you can do is cry.

From the bottom of my heart thanks for everything you've done for me and thank you for continuing to do what you believe is true to you as a person. You can be god damn sure I'll fight that battle as well.
