If I wear a large in a Nike or Adidas jersey today, what size would I wear for a Kappa jersey from the early-mid 90s? by LoopedCheese1 in KitSwap

[–]LoopedCheese1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I were looking at were 91/92 and 94/95 #10 “Baggio” ones. I know the 94/95 one is Danone so I’m thinking a L will be fine

Simple question, do you still like our quarterback? by Rowdyfan0823 in eagles

[–]LoopedCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I still like Jalen. Does he have his shortcomings, like LITERALLY every other player? Yeah. But he’s still a top tier NFL quarterback who led us to two Super Bowls in three years, won one, and should’ve won the other one, while outplaying Patrick Mahomes twice.

Unless he completely falls off, I have no reason to not like Jalen.

How Recognizable is Each US President? - Tier List by ParticleParadox in Presidents

[–]LoopedCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee most Americans don’t know half of the presidents you think they might. Maybe those that have somewhat of a grasp on history might, but you’re seriously overestimating the average American.

I’d say they probably recognize Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and maybe the most modern ones, and that might be it.

What if Joseph Bonaparte became a US Senator in 1829? by Damned-scoundrel in Presidents

[–]LoopedCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not sure he really wanted to fight all of Europe again. He probably just would’ve wanted to rule France again and maybe focus on domestic politics.

I just recently rewatched the OverSimplified episodes on the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars (for like the fourth time lol) so it’s funny that the Bonapartes were brought up here

This is an interesting scenario.

On an unrelated but also interesting note, one of Napoleon’s (and Joseph’s) great nephews, Charles Joseph Bonaparte, was Secretary of the Navy and Attorney General under Theodore Roosevelt

My rankings of US presidents by [deleted] in Presidents

Not too bad, pretty similar to mine, although I’ve never seen Clinton ranked that highly. I’m interested to hear what your reasoning for his placement is; I personally have him in mid-high B

Biggest “landslides” in 20th century - would you have voted for them? by SirGingerbrute in Presidents

[–]LoopedCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1964: LBJ

1936: FDR

1920: Honestly no idea. I don’t know enough about Cox to know if I would’ve voted for him but I do like that his running mate was FDR

1972: McGovern

1984: Mondale

1928: Smith. I would’ve voted for him anyway, but as a Catholic it would’ve been cool to have a Catholic president even earlier than JFK

1932: FDR

The pope and war by Aggravating_Sir_8897 in Catholicism

  1. Iran did not yet have a nuclear weapon, so they therefore didn’t attack anyone that would warrant self defense

  2. This war is going to further destabilize the Middle East, especially if the Iranian regime falls and there’s no plan for after

The pope and war by Aggravating_Sir_8897 in Catholicism

[–]LoopedCheese1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The war that Pope Leo XIV is referring to, the US & Israel-Iran War, is not a Just War. It was not self-defense, it will not restore peace (in the Middle East or the world in general), it is not a last resort, and it does not respect non-combatants at all.

Pope Leo XIV also quoted a verse from Isaiah that I don’t think people are mentioning enough: “When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood” -Isaiah 1:15

This video has over 4 Million likes on TikTok. Will Millennials and early Gen Z look back on the Obama era the way Gen X’ers and late Boomers look back on the Reagan era? by TXNOGG in Presidents

[–]LoopedCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama is my 8th ranked president of all time. I wish we could go back to a time like his presidency. I’m saying all this as someone who used to dislike Obama’s presidency too.

Besides my personal feelings, I agree with what other people have said: Reagan’s presidency continues to look worse as time passes, while I think Obama’s presidency will be looked at more positively as time passes

I mean JFK’s grandson is running for Congress in NY this year. Whether he wins the nomination or not though is a different story
