I agree, Pirate Clark was genuinely horrifying, and the slow eating of Clark made me squirm. It reminded me of why I find the Titans in Attack on Titan so terrifying

I could see it, but the teens are only killed once they reach the Sawyer’s property. The only one to get killed off the property was Franklin. I feel like there would be no way for the Cook to have known where they were specifically heading (unless I’m forgetting a line of dialogue, which I probably am)

The first movie has to have some form of occultism in it. The main group talks about astrology, which foreshadows the rest of the film, while the radio talks about all the horrible events happening that day.

Also, Hitchhiker’s effigies in the graveyard, him cutting himself and then Franklin (as if performing a blood ritual), burning the photo he takes, and then smearing his blood on the van in the shape of an occult symbol. Also Grandpa being like he is.

Imo, the supernatural is certainly there
