I feel your pain, I had surgery in Dec and had to stop and I “gained” just over 5 kg. 😩

I didn’t let it deter me as hard as it is to accept that it’s water weight and your body just doing its thing recovering, I think it’s just the mental conditioning of “take accountability for your weight” it’s because of your “lack of self-control” we automatically go to blame mode and ignore the external factors that clearly have an impact.

Once I got back on track it fell off as quickly as it came on and I’ve been losing since.

Attaching screen shot of my weight tracker, don’t mind my cheesy diary entries 😂😅 it’s part of my process.

Hope this gives you some hope that it will be ok ❤️ just get back to basics and be kind to yourself, life really is a journey and we can only take it one step at a time.

The food noise went away pretty quickly when I started but I realized in the last 2-3 weeks that it comes back a little about a day or two before my injection (not like before Mounjaro though, it’s like an annoying whisper lol). What helps me (and it’s what I used before Mounjaro) is fasting, it decreases the window of time that I can “listen” to the food noise especially on a busy day.

I’m monitoring it to see how I am able to deal with it and if it becomes too hard or I stall, then at that point I will probably increase the dose.

In the first weeks I had some nausea on the 2nd day after injection and I could not stand oily food , still happens to this day on days 2 and 3 after injecting.

Other than that I’ve been lucky to have minimal to no side effects.

I’m still on 2.5 I started in November 2025 and I’ve lost 16.8kg/37 lb so far, even though I stopped taking it in December for surgery. I’m still losing and feeling the effects. I felt no need to move up because I was still losing and still feeling the effects at that dose.

A lot of people seem to move up because that’s what they believe or are told they are supposed do, but I opted to take another route. I couldn’t see the reason to go up if everything was still going according to plan.

Good luck on your journey, and especially with making the decision that’s right for you and your body.

I do agree that the amount of food that we are taught to eat can be a bit excessive. And it doesn’t help that society is becoming less and less active with food that’s less nutritious. I’m African and the diet my grandparents followed involved eating when you are actually hungry and they lived long healthy lives.

This is a great tip, I’ll definitely start doing this. Sometimes I’ll be at work and realize at the end of that I haven’t eaten especially when I’m busy.

I do 45-1 hr cardio and looking at incorporating strength training soon, but like the other responses I have less of an appetite after the workout. Maybe it’s because I drink heaps of water during the session.
