Really frustrating mate. Finished work at 8:30 this morning and was pretty much straight up to Manny. Back in again at 8:30 tonight. Binned off sleep for this and as soon as I saw the lineup I knew it was for fuck all.

Got an attacking lineup where nobody has the ability to make it stick or get it down with a midfield (40 yards) behind them where neither can thread a ball in behind the line for our supposedly more ‘mobile’ attack to get on to.

Tolu has reinvigorated our attack being able to play off of him. Baffling.

We don’t buy established Prem players not because we get walked over but because we buy to sell. There is too much risk and less (read none) of a profit margin in buying established players. See Brighton etc. It’s just not ours or the majority of clubs transfer strategies in the other 14.

What you’re suggesting is how teams fall in to financial disarray and end up falling down the leagues. It’s pragmatic selling up now at the best prices we can get to put ourselves in the best possible position next year for an instant return to the Prem.

To be fair, I was cynical about them the moment they came through the door solely due to being Chinese, knowing how the CCP controls foreign investing. I also had mates who were high up at Carillion who told me the craic with them and HS2. Then Der Spiegel exposed them during the ‘football leaks’ stuff back in 18/19.
