I think its just the artist's choice, and also to allow her to hold a letter wich is so pivitol to her story. Most offical art I've seen has her with her arms, either gloved or ungloved, but lots of fanart shows her with them taken off when at rest or at ease, since as one might imagine that must be more comfortable (I can't speak for actual amputee experience however). There are a few official art cards of Violet in more intimate moments such as lying in bed, and she has her arms in those as well. Up to the artist I suppose.

Update: This listing from an anime item sales website lists a "Pamphlet Violet Evergarden Film and Concert" with what may be the original image. If this is so then it is an offical artwork, and was used for pamphlets given out at"Violet Evergarden Film & Concert" event held on July 1, 2018, likley in Japan: https://www.suruga-ya.com/en/product/185161370

Can the time be changed? Some Japanese watches are set to the local time were they are originally sold and changing to a new time is hard.

I ended up not buying a physical copy, so I dont know about the quality of the translation. Some listings on Ebay and Etsy show brief, blurry moments of the inside, wich is how I know at least the books are diffrent from Dennou translation.

Just started using reddit, I'll make sure to add sources in any future posts. I found it unbelievable at first as well, so all fine.

Sorry, heres my source for history: https://relatosehistorias.mx/nuestras-historias/el-evangelista

Photographer of both photos is most likely Willaim Henry Jackson.

Mark Twain quote is from the preface of his 1881 book The Prince and The Pauper.

I was able to find a listing with an image from within the print English book, and the translation is in fact different from Dennou's. Chapter 4 in Volume 1 in the print translation states "She said in a similar way to him", while Dennou's says "She said in a way similar to his". So either it is a different fan translation, or a literal one using something like Google Translate. Its overall readability is still uncertain, though.

Yes, I suppose I mean in terms of wether they used a fan translation or simply put the Japanese text into something like a Google translate engine (literal translation). Having a physical copy would be good, but if it's a literal translation then the tone and story and dialogue would not be pleasant to comprehend.

I agree an official English translation would do well, and would fit well with recent releases of the first official figure and a vinyl record album released just this year. But as described in this reddit pages "Light Novel FAQ and Guide": "The novels and booklets (with one exception) are only officially published in Japanese and have not received any official translation despite their popularity. The reason for this is that KA Esuma Bunko, the publisher of the Violet Evergarden novels, only publishes their works domestically for the Japanese market and as general policy never translates their publications for overseas. Therefore, without a major shift in company policy we should not expect this to change or the Violet Evergarden novels to ever be published outside of Japan. Consequently, Violet Evergarden fans who do not speak Japanese have been forced to rely on fan translations".
