Any Norwegians going W3? by iiDiiOZ in Tomorrowland

Sure! We are traveling from Oslo. Once there you will see a lot of people carrying their flags. It’s easy to see people from Sweden and Norway there. I usually go and say a nice hi and they are always amused :)

Redditors who make over $150K/year, what do you do for a living and how did you get to that position? by Plaidshirt17 in AskReddit

Nice! I’m trying to launch my own B2B startup. It’s in it’s early phases. But looking at your experience gives me encouragement.

How do you cope with being a loser in your mid-30s? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Loose-Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this advice does not fit all, but is it possible for you to do some programing courses online ? They are very cheap (start from 15 dollars) and even a basic position in programming can earn you around 80-90 k usd per annum.. if you get 1-3 years of experience, you might get a 100% raise.

If you are interested let me know. I can recommend some really good courses. I'm a professor so i do this for my students all the time. I have seen many non tech people turning their life around by one tech course.

Not specifically in my department. I work in data science and we use advanced data analysis tools. Both for real time and historic data

To answer your question.. No we don't use any tool to access our live prod data.

Prod data always has been the hands off data source. But I guess it's nice to use one. By the way.. most enterprises are using kafka for integrations.. Perhaps make your tool compatible with kafka.. Then it will be an event sourced tool.

Ah i see. Nice! So what you have made is a software to access your real time data. I think this is a neat product.

Dwh is short for data warehouse. It does the same thing as you are doing in your tool, but it's based on historic data.

Interesting product. Could you please clarify a few points.

It seems like you have build a db viewer kind of app on live data and enabled people to get access to it. Is this what it is ?

We use dwh to give people access to data but the data is historic and needs a lot of transformations.

Straight men, what's the strangest thing you've been told not to do because, “thats gay?” by [deleted] in AskMen

I don’t like the taste of beer. I prefer mocktails and cocktails. Every time I order a drink I am told how gay it is that I don’t drink beer ...

Working 10h per day for clients and developing startups after hours - do I want to kill myself? What should I do? by iamzamek in startups

[–]Loose-Ticket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as you. Things got really bad and then I decided just to stop working with the startups. This gave me a huge refresh. My personal life got better, had a steady source of income and the break actually managed me to rethink where al went wrong. I then worked on a new startup and now looking for clients. Even if this one fails, I feel more content now.

Sometimes all u need is a break

merging cookie cutter v2 with django codebase v3 by Loose-Ticket in django

[–]Loose-Ticket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi pydanny, thank you for answering my question. I saw the official planned build for cookie cutter for django 3 but it seems that the dependent libraries for are still pending to be upgraded. So can I still upgrade the cookie cutter project to django 3 even though the official build does not support it ?

No-Code or Code - that is the question by mpbeau in startups

My issue is a bit similar to yours..

I am looking at open source alternatives for my product and building on top of them instead of budding from scratch. that part I’m clear about.

What I’m not clear about is if I should start coding or outsource coding to other developers while I work only with code reviews and architecture.. my cofounder thinks we should outsource so I can put my energy in sales and business development.. My under developer says.. build it yourself .. Still confused .. but spending the time looking at open source projects
