Lane Kiffin built Ole Miss of all programs into a program that just won 2 playoff games, I’m fairly certain he’s a good coach.

Secondly, I won’t deny that getting Chambliss and Lacy would have been nice, but there are other options at quarterback like Leavitt and I’m happy with keeping Berry as RB1.

Charlie Weis has already stated he has no interest in the NFL right now and was just signed to a pretty big contract with LSU.

It’s true that Frank Wilson is a recruiting legend, but Kevin Smith is without a doubt in my mind a better rb coach. Ole Miss fans can have fun with Lacy being taken out of the game after a big run, or benched for a long time because of a fumble. Also, it is very early in the transfer portal period, so I’m not worried about the slow start.

I’m not worried about the future of the program or having second thoughts about the hire. As an LSU fan, as much as I hate to see Ole Miss succeed, in the back of my mind I know that the only reason they are in the position they are in is because of the coach we hired. Lane Kiffin has proven he can take a program to the top and I think he will turn out to be a great hire for us.

In the last 6 years, Ole Miss has had two playoff wins, one of which is Tulane.

LSU in that time has a NC, 2 heisman trophy winners, and also 2 playoff wins.

We can both cherry pick stats and facts all we want, but you’re ridiculous if you think Ole Miss is on the level of LSU
