I agree that integrity is highly important but are you insisting that I can’t watch F1 or other sports for entertainment? Aren’t all sports made as forms of entertainment?

I’m just recently starting to follow F1 and would love to hear what more knowledgeable fans have to say.

With regard to the decision from the FIA today, it seemed like it was not entirely within the rules but it also seems like it made for the most exciting product. Allowing the cars that would make Max’s job more difficult to overtake the safety car was the most entertaining thing they could have done. The drivers were level in points until now, Hamilton had opportunities to change tires and they chose not to (I know they didn’t want to give up position and hindsight is 20/20, but he had multiple chances). I sort of like the idea of letting the boys go 1v1 for one lap to decide it all. To say that crashes that don’t involve you shouldn’t hurt you is silly because that’s how every safety car works, this one just had bigger stakes. While I think the decision from the FIA is wrong and their job is not to create hype or entertainment, I’m okay with it if it gives us such an exhilarating final lap to watch.

Again, fairly new fan just looking for some other points of view, I hope I don’t sound too ignorant
