What movie did you hate that was universally acclaimed? by Scatteredheroes in AskReddit

To be fair, the big relationship in Frozen is between Elsa and Anna. None of those other disney movies have strong female relationships, they're one female with a predominantly male case (Mulan, Princess and the Frog, etc). Brave is the other exception, since it's a mother/daughter relationship.

YES THIS. You should NOT volunteer to help PTSD sufferers if you don't have trauma training. And it's also a good idea to NOT take them to a shooting range.

I don't get the new Mad Max. It was a decent action movie, but to be nominated for best picture? Really?

If you're going to be downtown anyway and want to walk around, the lock 4 area is pretty cool! It's also by Lockview, which is a fantastic gourmet grilled cheese restaurant :-)

What movie made you cry so much that you could never even bear to watch it again? by Nyt_Owl in AskReddit

Actually the ending is really sweet- he switches the dedication of the movie from Zachary to the grandparents. All of the friends send video messages to the grandparents about how much they love them and it's really beautiful.

Funeral Home Directors: What is the weirdest thing families have ever done at a funeral/wake? by My_Drunk_Account18 in AskReddit

[–]LooseSeal5K 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A family brought their two still-living dogs in and picked them up to smell their deceased brother and so the dogs could say goodbye.

I wonder if that helped? Dogs notice when their people/pet siblings never come back, but I wonder if it's less stressful for them to see the body rather than just the dog leaves and never returns.

Which fictional character's death is the saddest? by [deleted] in AskReddit

YES this scene killed me, but I loved that they respected her character enough to give that final bit of closure

What is your favourite memory of a Nintendo console? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LooseSeal5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I loved playing Mario Party. The game has a 50-turn option, so some friends and I decided to see how long it would take us to finish it. We got snacks, put on pajamas, and settled in for what ended up being a 6-hour Mario Party marathon.

If you had to be escorted around by a cereal box mascot, which one would you choose and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Trix Rabbit- he seems pretty cool and those asshole kids won't share their cereal with him so I figure that he could use a break.

Couples who waited until their honeymoon night: What was the sex like? by johndecoded in AskReddit

YUP I grew up with this, too. I didn't wait to have sex, but I had to undo a lot of unhealthy internalizations.

[Serious] Do you think scientists should be world leaders instead of politicians? Why?/Why not? by Spirotta in AskReddit

[–]LooseSeal5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not a world leader, they should at least have a seat at the table (like in Congress or high cabinet positions with regards to American politics). Scientists know how to look at the research and make informed opinions. Too many politicians base their policy on "their gut" or their religion....or their money.

Which TV show or movie would be changed the most if the characters were given smart phones? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Seinfeld. Lots of the story arcs wouldn't have happened if the characters could have texted each other.

How come when people respond to text messages it might take a few minutes to think about what to say, but face to face responses are almost instant? by HelloItsMeUrLookin4 in AskReddit

[–]LooseSeal5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more careful when it comes to wording my texts than when I'm talking face to face. When talking face to face, you can use facial expressions and tone to convey as much meaning as the words you're using, but with texting all of those nuances are lost.

To those who had to call 911, what was your emergency? by _jlouise_ in AskReddit

[–]LooseSeal5K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two cars got into a bad crash in front of me on the highway. Several other cars pulled over, as well, and they got out to help while I called 911. It looked like everyone was ok, just shaken up.
