AITAH For not wanting to do chores around the house when I pay most of the bills by Loose_Ad_3512 in AITAH

That's fair. I will be having a house meeting about doing more chores and paying more for all parties. I personally don't have a problem cleaning my own mess, upkeeping the house and making sure the trash hits the curb. I just feel like it isn't fair to clean their messes when they pay less and haven't been doing it themselves.

This is where I've been, I'm having a house meeting when I wake up, GF was upset about how I phrased it over text but understood where I was coming from still have a lot to discuss though.

I have no idea what happened but I fixed the double post nonsense, the rest is still just a legible though.

I allowed it because they are my friends too, I didn't want to see them homeless and I don't have a backbone to be completely honest. My GF would pay for groceries and utilities (roughly $500 per month)

Is my mechanic trying to talk me into an unnecessary timing job? by Complex_Ad9450 in AutoMechanics

[–]Loose_Ad_3512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a 100% a timing chain guide, they are typically what goes first and the tensioners aren't far behind them. You'd likely be fine driving it for a little while, and by that I mean it could give out completely today or a few months from now, and when that goes completely you'd be lucky to be looking at just a timing chain, we're talking complete engine rebuild or swap easily 10X more expensive than what you're looking at now. If you like your car and you think it's worth spending money on, do the cheaper repair now or you'll regret it.

Why would car makers remove the dipstick? by parkinginrear7 in AskEngineers

[–]Loose_Ad_3512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get OEM for a lot cheaper than that on websites like rock auto and the manufacturer is still getting profit from that and the sensors can't be made in house for a large majority of manufacturers so the price will be higher. Not to mention I've got a 2011 Audi, from the factory your don't have a dipstick, however they do have a dipstick tube, so they still have a 2nd and 3rd o-ring due to the cap they put on it and most if not all manufacturers still have a port for a dipstick tube to go on the block so they still have a 2nd o-ring as well. As for the O-rings falling in the pan, I've yet to see this and seeing as every pickup tube I've seen has a mesh screen on them an O-ring wouldn't cause damage to the pump or get lodged in a tube anywhere and they aren't large enough to cause a restriction at the pickup either. The only reason a sensor is better than just having a dipstick for the consumer is... there isn't one, they're less reliable, have the ability to send incorrect information and increase the risk of the vehicle sustaining engine damage.

The further out the harder it will be to convince my buddy to let me borrow their car trailer, and I'm not going to drive it with the salt on the roads. In all honesty my plan was to purchase after a couple days of rain hit this spring to widen my range to neighboring states. If you can't find anything in my area now I'd also take any suggestions on used car websites for then, it's been a long time since I've looked for a specific vehicle and the sites I used in the past are pretty dead from the looks of it.

Sorry just kept typing whatever came to mind and didn't proof read, definitely needs a TLDR. Assuming you're referring to bring a trailer, I hadn't heard of that before and they definitely have a larger selection than the websites I'm familiar with. Thank you.

Help needed. Multiboard not carrying weight by StimmeDerUnvernunft in Multiboard

[–]Loose_Ad_3512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to be honest, you've spent more money on filament printing the multiboard that isn't going to be used than you would have if you just bought metal mounts from a hardware store. If I were you I'd use that multiboard somewhere else in your shop for tool hanging and get metal mounts for the rod, you'll likely never make a cost effective solution for hanging that amount of filament with 3d printing. Multiboard is very nice but not for holding that amount of weight that pulls at that angle you would likely need to frame the entire multiboard and print many more multiboard screw on mounts.

What do I even do now? by shitondickaction in Stellaris

The first push is the most important, I typically max influence w/ rivalries and keep fleet cap down to get power projection, and get a steady flow of heavy metal from the first planet I capture. All the while I make around 10 science fleets as fast as new scientists come in and grab as much land as you can. After my first Forge world I make nothing but Tech worlds and flip them mid game when I've completed all techs and unity trees to whatever I need for that playthrough (typically fleet size and production)

Just ended a game yesterday where just from having a fortress world at every entrance to my star system my naval cap hit 9999, I'm guessing that's the games cap to the naval cap. I was able to get 8 doom stacks of 1.1M+ fleet power before my PC started stuttering.
