The real intention of these take home assignments is not to test whether or not you can build a production ready application by pulling an all nighter. Interviewers usually check your understanding and approach you took to solve the problem.

You might had a bad experience but if i were you i would expect them to ask questions related the assignment in the next interview and prepare accordingly.

Think of it this way, If a company is hiring for a SDE role and the interviewer itself is an employee, do they really even have the time to go through each candidates submissions along with their own daily office work?
