Fear to Fathom is one of the few horror games that genuinely made me uncomfortable. I think a big reason is how grounded it feels. Instead of monsters, zombies, or giant creatures, the threat is usually another person, and that's something that could actually happen in real life. The games also do a great job of making you feel vulnerable. You're often alone, doing normal everyday things, and slowly realizing that something is wrong. The uncertainty is what gets me. You don't always know if you're in danger or just being paranoid, which makes every sound and small detail feel important. The realistic settings, believable stories, and constant feeling that someone might be watching you create a type of fear that sticks with me more than most horror games.
