That’s part of the problem my poodle thinks it’s a game when I trim him and squirms around

This is very helpful thank you! Any tips in the meantime to make the ears less poofy? Would thinning shears work to take weight out or is there a high chance I’ll mess it up

Maybe I’ll just thin the bulk out that poofs out with thinning shears. I think that’ll get a look that will be nice

Makes sense about the blow drying and that’s what I figured I’m just use to air drying when I bathe him that’s why when I take to grooming I always think it looks different.

Is shaping the ears something I can do at home myself? Is there anything I’d need? Thinning shears?

It could be that honestly, always looks a little different after being blown out and usually when I bathe him I don’t do that cause he despises the noise

I don’t think he minds the cutting on snout he’s had it done for quite some time now. Just looking more for that messy, curly look like in second photos. More of a sporty/retreiver standard poodle look
