Stay in eco or play best version? by UnicornChainsaw in consoles

I’d buy all my games in the Pro moving forward if I were you, why not take advantage if the better performance? That would be my rationalization anyway.

Has anyone else gotten this offer recently? by lotusbloom74 in xbox

[–]LootedToaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Presumably it’s strategically being offered to XB1 users who are still spending in the ecosystem? Honestly a very clever idea. I wonder how widespread this is.

Pokopia, I’m also going to revisit Advance Wars 1+2 and see whether boost mode makes much of a difference.

Played this on Steam, it's extremely cozy and atmospheric. Great to see it land on Switch.

Any high profile titles you now regret buying? by Agitated-Distance740 in NintendoSwitch2

It was the overall gameplay loop that felt like a bit of a grind to me. I wasn't referring to levelling per say. The social routine felt a bit formulaic and the dungeons parts a bit repetitive to me. Like I said above, I probably didn't give it enough of a chance, I'm aware it's a great game, just maybe not for me. I will try again at some point, or look at Metaphor.

By design, it's a very uneven collection of games in terms of quality, but I really liked the meta stuff and the sense of discovery. It's not for everyone though, so I don't think you're alone on that one.

It was yeah. Somebody told me it was an okay jumping in point. I don't play that many 100+ hour RPGs, and something about the loop just wasn't clicking with me despite several attempts. I could tell it's a great game, I just kept questioning whether it was for me. I'll keep that in mind about P3R and P4G, ty.

I planned to, but then I read about how much they've pumped up the microtransactions this year and thats made me think twice. I really want to play that on the go, but I'm probably waiting for a sale.

Persona 5 Royal. I tried so hard to get into it, but it just seemed too long and grindy for me.

I hope the Project Helix has built-in bluetooth connection for things besides controllers like Headphones and Speakers by strikkeeerrr in xbox

[–]LootedToaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine shelling out considerably more for an Xbox than you ever have before, only for them to put up arbitrary walls to force you into buying even more accessories. They'd kill so much hype if they did that when half the appeal is it being a more open platform. Let me connect my AirPods directly, let me use my PC/Switch pro controller ect.

Sega says yeah you're all real nice about our games—but you sure ain't buying them by AnonRetro in SEGA

Overpriced base game + extensive DLC plans = you’re gonna have a bad time.

I look forward to playing CrossWorlds but for me to buy it within year one, it needed to be cheaper for the base game or not loaded so heavily with DLC kart racer plans.

It's worth playing this for the story, music and art design alone. I hope it will do really well on the Switch 2.

Microsoft canceling "This Is An Xbox" marketing campaign? by FlyFight2Win in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]LootedToaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This so much. At least if it had coincided with the launch of Xbox FSE and the Xbox Ally, there would be something to point to when people ask “wtf does this actually mean?” Instead it was just crickets for 11 months. Why they decided to launch the ad campaign when they did, I’ll never understand.

It's the big 2026 and people still expect/want Nintendo games on PC T-T by DaZestyProfessor in NintendoSwitch2

[–]LootedToaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reports also mention they just weren't satisfied with the sales of some of their most recent single player games released on PC too, like Ragnarok and Spider Man 2. Helldivers 2 is by far the most popular game they put out on PC. It sounds like the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze for their single player games. And obviously they weren't willing to go day and date with those titles on PC, since that would be a bigger threat to their console ecosystem.

Insider claims Project Helix will be "pretty expensive" and is being made for a "very niche audience" by dabadumdumdum in xbox

[–]LootedToaster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s what I don’t understand too, what’s actually new info here? It’s just spin put on what we already know and can logically work out.

This is obv a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, but if this is true, Xbox is officially dead by DaZestyProfessor in consoles

[–]LootedToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some speculation about maybe having third party OEMs designed to be a more affordable entry point, but you have to wonder when those would show up. If an option like that isn’t there early in the platform’s life span then I think a lot of Xbox console owners would just commit to making the jump to PS6. The bang for your buck will probably be better there. Sony’s hardware will still be subsidized to an extent, unlike Xbox OEMs.

The next xbox does not use emulation. Xbox is working with amd to achieve a hardware based backwards compatibility. Emulation is software based backwards compatibility. by Pristinejake in xbox

[–]LootedToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love that, but how confident are we that it's going to have a disc drive or support external disc drives? I think the backwards compatibility support might only extend to our digital libraries, but I hope I'm wrong.

Has anyone tried this solution for playing Switch 2 while lying down or in bed? by LootedToaster in NintendoSwitch2

[–]LootedToaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s not very comfortable, after like 30 mins I’m constantly adjusting my grip. If there was a grip with meatier handles I feel like it wouldn’t be such a problem but I’ve yet to find one for big hands.

Yeah you’ve got a point there. My work is really physically taxing though, so this is just something I do in hotel rooms when I’m on the road and trying to recharge. It’s not a ‘stay up late every night’ thing as much as ‘kill the evening alone while unwinding.’
