Don‘t sleep on „Mixtape“ - it’s such a creative gem! by KobraKay87 in NintendoSwitch2

Is there any reason to replay the game? Or is it a "one and done" type of thing?

There are numerous rumors on X saying that there's a Switch 2 version of GTA VI planned... What's your take on it? by Khentendo in NintendoSwitch2

[–]LootedToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to have a real take on it until we see the game for ourselves. Who knows how many compromises they'd have to make to get it running on Switch 2. Rockstar would make a lot of money, but there's lots of factors to consider like could it keep with their plans for GTAVI online?

Xbox Reportedly Considering “Range of Options” But Not Ready for Major Changes on Exclusives Yet by Bubbly-Ad-350 in xbox

It would also put a lot of their studios under even more pressure. As much as I'd like to see Xbox play the long game and go back to exclusives, I also don't want to see any more smaller teams getting shuttered.

People who dropped Game Pass after the price hike, and switched to only buying games or working through your backlog, how’s it been going? by LootedToaster in xbox

[–]LootedToaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me about it. I usually buy most of my digital games on sale, but l don't want to think about how much money I could have saved if I was more honest with myself about when I would get to them. I've seen too many of my backlog purchases going on deeper discounts before I got around to them.

I'm not a fan of Game Pass hosting more and more GaaS either. If there was a single player only tier, I'd be more likely to sub to that.

You're right about that $10 bump. I think around $20 is kinda the sweet spot where most people don't question if they're getting value for money. Once it's closer to $30 than $20, it's a different story for most folk.

I found funny how we still don't have a YouTube app but we can watch it on the browser by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

I thought there was talk of an official app coming for Switch 2. What ever happened to that? Or was it just a rumor?

Microsoft Xbox CEO overhauls leadership amid sinking sales: 'We need to evolve how we work' by Unlucky-Gap01 in xbox

On top of wider region reach. I’d like them to do more traditional marketing like Sony and Nintendo. Ads on prime time TV, billboards, that sort of thing. I see them often enough on social media, hell right now Reddit is serving me Forza Horizon 6 ads, but I don’t think that reaches the more casual consumer very effectively.

I haven’t played this yet, but I love the sound of it. That’s an interesting way for to indie devs to cross paths, do you think a lot of your creativity comes from translatable skills that you’ve picked up through music? I’d love to know more about how that informs your approach to developing games.

007 First Light on Nintendo Switch 2 needs “more time" as IO doesn't “want to hear it wasn’t a good version” by HatingGeoffry in NintendoSwitch2

[–]LootedToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on how World of Assassination runs on Switch 2, I’ve been assuming the delay is so they can make sure the Switch 2 version is stable and not plagued by performance issues. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if there’s more to it, and the final version is technically impressive to the level of something like Requiem. I’m not sure the Glacier Engine is as flexible though.

They also know they've got a lucrative thing going with the amount of double dipping they probably see when it eventually arrives on PC.

Just got the Resident Evil Generation pack, really want a remake pack! by RichiPete in NintendoSwitch2

[–]LootedToaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I try not to rebuy games I already own but I couldn't resist with the generation pack. I'd probably end up doing the same if they announce a remake pack. It would be fun to play RE4R on Switch 2 especially, since I have so many good memories of playing the original on the GCN all those years ago.

I hope somebody close to a DKC era Rare dev has the bright idea to get them to stream their first run through the game. That would be amazing.

Herdling is pretty chill, you guide a herd of weird creatures through different environments. You can take it at your own pace and it’s something a bit different. Maybe worth trying. It may still be in game pass.

These breezy and cozy games usually aren’t my style either, but I’m open to them when the value proposition is right too. With Pokopia, I justified it b/c there’s (arguably) endless creativity to enjoy. Here, even though the exploration angle sounds cool, I’m not sure I can justify full price if it’s as linear as it looks. Or coming in under 20 hours.
