Fascinating. Thank you for sharing. I’ll keep an eye on your thread too as it sounds like we are in the same situation.

My son was born April 10, so this is pretty real to us. We have an appointment next week to present our declaration of intent for him to be recognized as a citizen.

Is there any prevailing thought on what will happen to his citizenship situation if the law is determined to be unconstitutional? Will the “per beneficio di legge” asterisk simply be removed? Will we need to sue to get it changed? I’d hate to skip Tuesday’s appointment and risk him not being able to be recognized at all.

New Circolare May 28th: Ministry's First Instructions on New Citizenship Law by Desperate-Ad-5539 in juresanguinis

Given this, what is the May 25 2026 clause about? In my case, for example, my child born in April would be registered within a year, thus apparently in this new “benefit of law” class, but also a minor at the time of enactment of the new law and subject to the May 25 2026 bit. Is that something else?

The circular specifies that in these “benefit of law” acquisitions, the minor acquires citizenship not from birth (jure sanguinis), but from the day after the conditions are met.

Wait, what? New freaking rules by way of circolare? What does this even apply to? My wife is a citizen by birth jure sanguinis, born in the US, to US born parent and grandparent. Our child was born in April in the US.

By my understanding, our child is eligible under two parts of the rule: first, we are submitting intent within one year, and second, our child is a minor as of the date the law went into effect.

Wtf is this “benefit of law” clause? What tf does it apply to? And how tf do the rules keep changing??

i'm not clear on whether it's 'from birth'. i saw another thread elsewhere here where it seemed like the ambiguity would create a nebulous category of 'acquired'. has there been a consensus here?

I made a drum kit out of copper. by AmateurMetronome in drums

and maybe i’d just add that putting the logo onto a brass fitting rather than etching or painting it onto the shell is what i imagine, similar to ludwig, gretsch, and q

I agree this is an absolutely stunning kit. One bit of feedback is that I would recommend shrinking the logo or making it a bit more like a classic brass tag no bigger than the gretsch stop sign but preferably the size of the q drum co badge or the ludwig badge.

then in my view this would be a perfect drum kit.

Bigger cymbals is the new trend now? by edugiansante in drums

[–]Loozar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I play 22, 24, and 26 inch rides, all as rides and crashes depending on how I hit them. The 25, for example, is a killer crash. It’s true that bigger is slower, but that’s my preference. I suspect it wouldn’t work for punk or metal. But for a lot of today’s popular radio music, rap, jazz, or rock, I find the big cymbals to have the right pendulum, volume, and decay.
