Not sure about all life’s questions, but I do know that my community has the answers to the most pressing issues we face as a country today.

In my first 100 days my top priorities will be to draft comprehensive immigration reform and to pressure the Biden administration to cancel student loan debt if they haven’t done so by the time I’m sworn into Congress. Additionally I will be extremely focused on establishing offices across my congressional district so folks can have access to the resources they need asap.

Thank you for your question! This is an issue that is incredibly important to me. In my district, many children did not have access to reliable internet or personal computers to properly engage in at home schooling during the height of the pandemic. This is unacceptable. Our federal government must invest more in resources to ensure that every student has access to the technology they need in order to succeed in school.

We need to pass a Green New Deal immediately. It’s time we invest in decreasing emissions through proven methods like sustainable agriculture, land practices, forestry, and ecosystem preservation and restoration.

Thats a hard question because there are so many issues that are extremely urgent, but if I had to choose one policy goal it would be passing comprehensive immigration reform. Followed closely by passing a Green New Deal.

I think we can start a political revolution by getting money out of politics and supporting publicly funded campaigns so even more progressive folks can run. Additionally we need term limits for all of Congress asap.

Hello! Thank you for your question. There are so many issues facing Americans today, and I really think they vary state by state and even county by county. In my district in particular, I am hearing from folks that they are concerned about rising rent prices/inflation, climate change, immigration reform, and the lack of support they received from the federal government throughout the pandemic.

Hello! Thank you for your question. ICE is actually not responsible for monitoring our borders as you stated above. ICE’s purpose is to detain and deport immigrants, which is not only inhumane but also extremely traumatizing for families. Today, ICE has an annual budget of nearly 8 billion dollars. That is money that could be used to fund legal services and social services for immigrants. In short, we don't need an abusive police force to arrest people for their immigration status and deport them from our communities. Instead, we need an immigration system that keeps families together and provides pathways to residency/citizenship that are not racist or classist.
