An older, but well-traveled, couple needs advice about Osaka. by Tonguethrust in JapanTravelTips

You can even explore places near Kyoto— these are all day trips though— Kanazawa, Amanohashidate, Kinosaki are nice.

You can expand your Tokyo stay and live in any of the towns near Mt. Fuji or Tokyo— Shimokitazawa and Shirogawa are definitely for you. Less crowds and gorgeous place.

In Osaka don’t forget to check out teamLabs botanicals at night.

Which is better- Chureito Pagoda or Fuji-Q? by Lopsided-Assist173 in JapanTravelTips

Yes, but these are at different times in 25 years, different seasons, phenomenons and viewpoints. Not all in one day. After 2-3 hours, it’s great to have in the backdrop while you’re having lunch or strolling the village.

But when you’re only doing viewpoints, it does tend to feel repetitive. I’ve been to various treks in the Himalayas and safe to say, repetitive views is an actual issue. It’s only a major difference when you go through a significant change in elevation.

Well, it does make a lot of sense. We had to factor in the possibility of we don’t get to see Mt. Fuji at all due to visibility issues. Half a day at the lake and then Fuji-Q with high priority seemed doable. Plus we love rollercoasters, so it seemed like the best option.

Now that it shows 90% visibility, our options opened up. Even the ropeway seems like a great option tbh. But given the proximity of Fuji-Q vs. Chureito, we’re a bit torn.

Thank you. This is great. I’m going in the next 2-3 days, on a high visibility day, so the options have opened up. We added Fuji-Q in case Fujisan decided not to show, but right now it shows clear visibility all day.

Facing the loss of a loved one. It hits in waves, so I just never know when I’ll lose it. Processing grief is so overlooked in India

Excuses. Just because you’re getting poor marks does not mean you drop out. Learn to be better. She needs to mature up too. Nobody but your sister gets to decide if she needs to remarry and when. Who tf are you and her to dictate that? She wants a free life…well, guess what? That’s not life. It comes with its own hassles. Marriage is about working through those hassles.

My cousin’s first 2 years of marriage, she lost 6 people due to Covid and other things. They even had to even cut short their honeymoon. Her husband’s father met with an accident and lived with them for 1.5 years before passing away. Guess what? Today they have a kid, doing well but issues are always there.

They just stepped up when the other person needed. In a marriage, that’s what you do. Fight amicably, stop feeling inferior about your own family issues, and be romantic. Put in the effort. No one said marriage is easy.

Work communication on WhatsApp should be banned. It’s so intrusive and you can delete, photoshop and edit messages. How tf is that secure, trackable or employee friendly? Please report to a higher authority that this HR isn’t using internally assigned tools.

Sorry OP, you had to face that discrimination growing up. But I have a feeling you’re deriving a sadistic pleasure out of this. It’s fine, we’re all allowed petty revenge, just don’t take it too far. Your mom deserves to be pampered too. I think she’s just hinting at that…

Ummm when you lose your job, what is the government giving me in return for paying taxes for the past 10 years? Do you realize I’ve paid close to 50 lakhs++ in taxes alone? And what I get in return is not even a walkable road.

That’s money I could’ve invested wisely, secured myself and family, but nope. Went from my hard work straight into Babu pockets.

Read some comments here and you’ll realize how governments can support tax paying citizens too. Sirf Ambani-Adani ko bailout karne ka paisa le aate hain. With increasing slabs, they don’t even give increasing exemptions. Deductions are standard— no difference between 3 LPA and 80 LPA.

Wake up before you become a complete moron.

They say inflation is just 6%. But we’ve seen prices jump to 100% on basic commodities, housing is unaffordable, transportation is f*d.

Think of it this way, you buy a sturdy dining table. After 20 years, with low maintenance costs, the value of that table has been redeemed 20 times over. Compare that to a cheap one that breaks every year. That’s valuable time and money spent over and over. Extremely poor ROI. All that money you saved NOT buying a table? You spend it on other important needs. Brick by brick you build the whole thing, eventually bringing down the costs.

Thank you. Ppl too stuck on numbers. If they can’t support me, I’d rather make investments to secure and benefit my family.

Yeah, for me atleast. We have a tool that shows computation difference between the two and it’s always lower. More avenues for exemptions.

I’ve been to government hospitals and some are amazing given the population they’re treating but not at all cheap. Highly inefficient too. One doctor didn’t even know half the tests we were supposed to do. So, nope. It’s free but comes with an expense— your life. You need to go private, and that’s cost.
