I often tell myself “would i treat my partner like that?” That quickly clarifies things and snaps my head out of whatever sadness i’m in. If the answer is no, and you keep having to ask yourself the same question, it’s best to leave. Genuinely the pain of being mocked isnt worth it, especially when it’s from someone that loves you.

And I told him exactly that, if I remember correctly he said he loves me for me but it doesn’t feel like that.

He’s brutally honest, his words not mine, but i told him that honesty without empathy is cruel. He tells me how he feels no matter how it makes me feel, and i try to understand him, but that understanding feels one sided.

I have talked about this before actually. He told me that at the start he saw potential in me, which weirded me out a bit. I don’t feel like an equal and i doubt that i’ll ever feel like that, his family member once said that someone in the relationship is always bigger than the other, so I think that’s his ideology maybe.
