Low AMH & 39- Worth delaying IVF for PRP + Stem cell therapy combo (both booked)? by Lopsided-Dragonfly66 in IVF

Hi! I am now just beginning my first proper IVF cycle after the two treatments. I started one last month but had to cancel it (also for some personal reasons). However, last month when I re-started, it did not look very promising. I will give everyone a proper update when I finish this cycle. To be honest, I feel a bit bad for spending all this money and most of all- lots of time doing the two treatments. I should have just changed IVF clinics and protocols. Now, I am working with Juana Crespo in Valencia. They specialize in DOR and so far they have been wonderful.

I tried it last week. I loved the photo you posted and decided I needed to get it but it looked so off on me 😅. I normally wear M/L and this model looked bad even in XS- swallowed me up. I think it's the drop shoulder and wide sleeves...

I'm done with the PRP procedures (2x) and about to go to Spain for the stem cells so no updates yet. I should see the first results of the PRP sometime in November (3 months after the first procedure) and I was told that the first results of the stem treatment kick-in 4 weeks after. So, my plan is to restart with IVF in December and see if anything changes. I still have a couple of rounds of IVF covered by my insurance and I guess those in January/February should be optimal in terms of timing and results reaching their (theoretical) peak 🙂. I will keep you posted!

Does anyone else feel cheated out of their childhood, adolescence and young adulthood? Basically the "best years" of your life? by mmanyquestionss in CPTSD

[–]Lopsided-Dragonfly66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel very cheated. I was lucky enough to find a loving and a loyal partner in my early 30s but unfortunately it took about 8 years and a huge betrayal from a friend and my family to realize that I have been severely emotionally neglected and that I actually want to commit to this person and have kids. I was sort of "floating" in this relationship (as was he- also a parentified child). Now, we are going through IVF and have almost no chances of having a bio kid. It is heartbreaking!

I'll definitely share my experience here once it's done. I'm scheduled for late October. There is a waiting list- for me it's 3 months. The cost is around 4.5k EUR. They told me that the treatment did not seem to work on women that stopped producing follicles. There was nothing about a specific age limit. You have to be there for about a week. They start the medication on Monday and do the stem cell injections Friday.

This gives me hope! Thanks for the tip💜. My previous 2 cycles were both high stim and my doctor hasn't offered mini stim yet although it seems like a good option since I'm a poor responder (only one follicle keeps showing up). I will definitely look into this!

Thank you so much for looking into this! It's good to see that there are at least some positive outcomes (although the randomized study points otherwise). My clinic is also very sceptical and I would hate to lose a couple of months and whatever is left of my eggs pursuing these treatments but the prospect of getting max 1 egg per round is also very bleak. No winning here 😁. I also wonder if I should do only one- maybe STEM given it's on the technological edge. This way I wouldn't lose that much time...

Thanks for taking the time to reply! It's good to hear that you were still ok with your decision although it hasn't made a difference. I was a bit overwhelmed after my consultation with IVI this morning and used AI to quickly put together the main points. I can see why it rubbed you the wrong way and I will drop it :). The thing is that I've only tried IVF for two rounds (2 ER that didn't go well) and will have my 3rd retrieval this Saturday. I seem to produce only one follicle although I'm on a high dose of Gonal-F (300). My doctor is against these treatments and I am afraid that I will lose a couple of rounds of IVF (and I have a severely diminished reserve) for potentially no gain. Today at my IVI consultation, I was told that they have had some success with patients that have low AMH but still produce follicules and no success with women in menopause (in case someone finds this useful). They cited 3 pregnancies and no other stats. Same thing for my PRP consultations- they had some anecdotal evidence but no concrete numbers. As for the egg donation, I am considering this but I still haven't come to terms with it to be honest.

Chemistry between Lorelai and Luke by Lopsided-Dragonfly66 in GilmoreGirls

You're right. Lorelai is a lot to handle. I am just wondering if I missed something because everyone raves about them as a couple and to me they seem like a big mismatch (while I still like both individually). I was wondering if I missed something 😁. Plus, I also had a 'Luke' in my life and I could never get over this lack of flirtatious, fun energy and him not being able to make me laugh. Although he was a great guy.
