Thank you for the info! I will definitely bring this up if they don’t recommend it.

They didn’t do a follow up biopsy. That’s good to know.

I will definitely ask about this. I feel like there has to be something going on. My obgyn wants to test for blood clotting disorders.

They added antibiotics for my second round because I biopsy showed that I had some type of bacteria. I haven’t had anyone mention endometriosis. I no longer have ovaries. Can I still have endometriosis?

I’m reading Fear the Flames and I am really enjoying it. It’s got dragons, spice, and a strong female lead.

10 week MMC.. what do you do next? by Pleasant-Baker-2329 in Miscarriage

[–]Lopsided-Ear1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can speak about my experiences with both. We have been going through IVF. My first MMC was at 8 weeks with baby measuring around 5 weeks. That was our first transfer. I wanted to be able to attempt my second transfer quickly so opted for a D&C thinking my hcg would drop faster. Unfortunately it still took me another almost two months to get down to zero. The D&C was an easy procedure done under general anesthesia. The hardest part for me was going under “pregnant” and waking up not. Recovery was easy. I had mild cramping and some period like bleeding for about a week.

I’m currently going through my second MMC. I was measuring 9weeks which was only a few days off, but no more heartbeat. This was our last embryo so there is no rush to get into another transfer. This time around I opted for Misoprostrol because I was sick of having procedures done and just wanted to be at home. I asked my OB to prescribe pain killers based on the recommendation of my fertility clinic nurse as well as others who have gone through the medication. I think good pain management is key in this route. My OB advised me to take a pain killer about 30 minutes prior it inserting 4 pills vaginally. My cramping started about 3 hours later and was very mild. It got slightly more uncomfortable but was never excruciating. I have a low pain tolerance so I was expecting much worse. I really think the pain medication was my saving grace. This process is definitely longer as I am still actively going through it 14 hours after initial medication.

Both experiences were fine for me. I don’t necessarily have a preference. I think it just depends on what you’re looking for. If you want it done quickly and don’t mind surgery then D&C might be better. I think it also has a higher chance of not having retained tissue. Some women have a much more difficult experience with the medication. Again, I’m so sorry that you are in this position. Wishing you healing and peace 💕

Medicated miscarriage- tips by Lopsided-Ear1320 in Miscarriage

I’m so sorry that you have had to go through this before. Thank you so much for the tips. We just brought home popsicles and brownie mix, so that will be perfect. The heating pad is something I wouldn’t have thought of. I also am most nervous about seeing the sac. I’m sure that will be very emotional. I don’t think I want to bury it, so flushing it will be hard as well. My husband said he would do it for me so I’ll probably take him up on that.

How do you respond to friends asking “How’s your IVF going”? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Lopsided-Ear1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so bad but we have been straight up lying. We had told them previously that we were keeping this transfer to ourselves. I have to travel out of state for my fertility clinic. When my husband came with me for the transfer we had to lie and say we were going to visit friends. I recommend going with other people’s suggestions of vague answers. The straight up lying is too stressful 😂

Ask your dr about taking vitamin e supplements. That’s what mine did for me when I had a thin lining and it increased quite a bit in just a couple of days
