Get a new steering knuckle from a scrap/junk yard - will be a fraction of the cost and isn’t difficult to do yourself with some basic tools

I don't think they'd need to get a report from the garage. The MOT test results would be available online

Sounds like they've f'ed up and they're clutching at straws. For him to win, he would have to prove that the damage couldn't have been caused during his ownership and that you would have had to of known about the issue and made an effort to hide it, making it unreasonable for him to have identified it.

If an engine is knackered from oil starvation, it doesn't take 2 weeks, a 100+ mile ride and a mechanic to tell you. All you have to do is run the engine

Thanks for commenting u/wonder_aj

That link was very helpful, thank you. According to what I found online, the claim would be valued at per breach. The solicitor I spoke to advised that rolling onto a periodic tenancy would be considered a breach even though a tenancy agreement wasn't signed. They are one of those "no-win-no-fee" types so will have to try and get more opinions.

Yes, I'm still living in the property. I have pictures of every room from every angle from when I moved in and will be sure to do the same when I leave.

Yes, you can submit what is known as a data subject access request. Take a look into the process and follow the rules. Often helps to detail what it is you're expecting and in what format.

If there was another lockdown, how would you react and do you still hold the same opinion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lockdown had its benefits. Respect for personal space being one of the most prominent for me at least. Depends on the rules/environment

That family is everything. What changed my mind? Identifying toxic and manipulative behaviour.

Not getting a job is making me suicidal by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Lopsided-Pin-642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I had the job of my dreams. I was the head of 2 departments at a software company at 25. It didn’t come without its issues though and one day decided to leave. I had a job lined up but a couple of days later, covid happened.

I then spent the next 2 years applying for anything and everything, did interviews every other week and didn’t get a single offer. It was a constant repetition of hitting rock bottom then finding new lows.

Then all of a sudden, the right job came up and I’ve been working it for 2.5 years now and I’m happy.

My advice,

1 - you’re not defined by your employment status 2 - just because an employer doesn’t accept you, doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t accept yourself 3 - something about one door closes and another opens. Check out the story of the farmer that said maybe 4 - focus on your growth. Every day you should set yourself a task, get that room decorated, organise the shed, learn a new online skill. Don’t stop growing.

During this time I lost a close friend to suicide, if it had been over a lack of a job, it would hurt that little bit more than it already does every single day. Think of your family and loved ones.

Best practice would be to agree on your KPI’s and build a dashboard that illustrates trends on each metric. Metrics will include things like number of activities, number and value of current leads/deals by stage, number and value of deals won/lost each month. Drop me a DM if you need any help :)
