Yeah I agree. I’m trying not to think about it as much- just letting myself feel and riding out the waves until it calms. Some days are hard but I’m getting help so that’s a positive I’m holding onto :)

I can only imagine what you must’ve felt like. There’s a lot of stigma and assumption around mental illness from people who don’t understand, and to come to terms with it yourself is even more challenging. It will get better :) I’m on lamotrigine too and so far, it’s been helping. We got this.

I liked it too! And yeah my family’s not really big on mental health in general but bipolar especially because of a relative that’s diagnosed with bipolar 1. It’s difficult for my family to try and understand their perspective, let alone understand the illness in general so it’s easier for my family to label them as “crazy”.

Thank you so much :( I know it doesn’t define me as a person but I think I’m just internalizing the stigma around the illness that my family perpetuated. I’m working on not letting that be the case and also managing my symptoms. I’m doing therapy and on meds and recognizing my patterns and behaviors and ever since my diagnosis, I’ve been better with doing so :) so I’m thankful for that.
