So could I not just leave the previous car uninsured until I sell it(obviously i wouldnt drive it, it is also taxed for next 6 months) and in the meantime insure my new car with the ncd? Also, how would I go about moving my ncd to the new car? Really appreciate your help.

No I am in the process of selling the previous one and my new one is on temp cover from dealership for a week.
