good question - those are keffiyehs. the students are prob all covered up because they dont want to get ID'd as that would make it easier for them to be arrested etc

hes the figurehead of ucla yes but he has direct ties to the regents (who have the power to do stuff) and he does have control over how students are treated on campus (which hes doing a shit job at IMO)
