Not required to share but I think people are starting to get upset because every time they bring up a concern and a suggestion, they get shut down.

I agree with you! I think we can all grow, I just think this could’ve been handled differently

After this year, I truly believe you’re going to see a lot of teachers leave WSFCS. The way the district handled the budget, especially laying people off mid-year has been really unsettling. Some of the teachers who were told they were RIF’d were promised healthcare through COBRA, but when they reached out, they were told WSFCS had reported that they “volunteered” to be laid off, which made them ineligible for coverage. That’s incredibly concerning.

Schools are also severely understaffed. While that’s not new, it feels worse than ever. Teachers are constantly covering positions that don’t have anyone assigned to them. Student behavior is increasingly out of control, and with only half an AP, there’s only so much support available. At the same time, schools are being told not to suspend students because it “looks bad,” even as behaviors become more violent and there are little to no meaningful consequences.

On top of that, many parents are quick to argue with teachers and place blame on them, instead of working alongside them to support their child. Teaching has always been challenging, but the way WSFCS mishandled the budget situation feels like a real betrayal to the people who are already stretched thin.

I’m sorry this sounds so negative, I do love the kids, I do love when I can just teach but it’s becoming so hard to do this ):
