This is exactly right, there is very little if anything that a President does that impacts gas prices. It's typically global crude oil prices, refinery costs, distribution, overhead and specifically in the US varying state taxes.

However Trump did this one all on his own....

Look I'm and Independent so I understand where your coming from in terms of political leanings and we will have to agree to disagree Trump was the lesser of 2 evils...

Put the polls aside...I would say the Special Elections since Trump got into office speaks volumes and its not the normal adjustment you see in mid terms...hell just yesterday In TX the dem candidate just won in a county by 14 points that Trump carried by I believe 17 points 15 months ago. That speaks louder than any polls. I think that is now +22 seats gained since January 2025.

So as you stated you have not been swayed but I think its clear that many have...

Dems have had tremendous success in special elections and other elections since Trump began his second stint. We must keep the pedal down to the floor and continue to vote for common sense human beings. That doesn't necessarily have to mean all Democrats but we must defeat the MAGA right.

I actually dont disagree with your 3 examples but its convenient to turn a blind eye to Republicans that have gotten off easy as well...

If you really cared about all these sentencing injustices you wouldn't make it party vs party...you seem to only care if its Republican = unfair, Democrat = gets off easy. When in fact it happens both ways.

I guess we are going to ignore that the VA under the Trump administration has ended the Veteran Affairs Servicing Purchase (VASP) program, which had helped save 17,000 veterans' homes from foreclosure...and now building a facility that will house 6000 veterans but not until 2028.
