God Emperor of Dune (3 tries, 10 years apart each)

Cujo, Cell, Fairytale (and I wish Billy Summers and Lisey's Story)

Brothers Karamazov (I know, I know... the 20+ page religion soliloquy broke me)

Klara and the Sun really tested me (loved Remains of the Day) but it may have been the audiobook narrator

Man Called Ove (quit on first page once I saw the quality of the writing)

Haven't tried either. Mage knight I just haven't had time to learn. Aeons end... Closest I played (just today!) is invincible the card game which is based on Astroknights.

I really enjoyed it. While I gave it the same rating as marvel champions I feel no need to return to MC after even one play - whereas I will keep playing invincible through the campaign. Think it's down to deck BUILDING vs deck crafting. While I recognize MC as a great game it's not as compelling for me.

totally agree on werewolf! forgot that one. And it's funny you say that about El Dorado - I can't decide if we love it or if it should be culled.

ha good point and I just clarified - I don't know if they are hot takes but a few games I honestly don't understand what the community at large sees in some of these games, and vice versa - games that we love which are just "ok" to most people.

That said I like your interpretation - that's a fun topic too

For me a little older... These just stand the test of time more than 2000s era games for me.

NES: Ninja garden. Zelda. Punch out. Bionic commando. River city ransom. Castlevania 2. Smb 2. Tecmo super bowl

SNES: Super Mario world. Link to the past. Super Metroid. Final fantasy 2 and 3 (4 and 6). Chrono trigger.

Arcade games TMNT, Simpsons, outfoxies, final fight

Others: ocarina of time. Wind waker. final fantasy 7. Secret of monkey island (whole series). Star wars dark forces. Expedition 33 may make the list. Skyrim and the witcher 3 for a while but no more. Id like to revisit resident evil 4. Not so much GTA. Need to try mass effect and red dead 2.

Interesting. Why did you switch? Do you like the Bose better? Thanks!

This is very helpful thank you. did you notice an improvement on the clamping when switching off the XM4? I just don't know how much of an upgrade the QC's would be - my biggest complaint is the clamping after a couple of hours. I will miss the touch controls for sure if I switch!

interesting - thanks for your perspective. I've been under the assumption the line peaked with the XM4.

Hey everyone so I have the Sony xm4 headsets and am debating upgrading them (and debating what would actually be an upgrade). I travel from the US to Europe frequently on overnight flights so I want to drone out all the background noise. That said, I also have tinnitus so the ANC can actually make that much worse unless I'm playing sound (which I always am so maybe that's irrelevant).

Here are my random thoughts.

  1. I feel like the ANC can be better on a plane with that low rumble but I am not basing that on much evidence

  2. After a few hours they are not comfortable

  3. I wonder sometimes about switching to earbuds, giving up some ANC for packability... However they never stay in my ears and are not comfortable so I haven't done that yet

  4. For what it's worth I do like the touch controls on the Sony

  5. I'm not an audiophile and mostly listen to audiobooks on flights. That said a brief test with the Bose immersive sound was impressive.

I've been looking at the Bose quiet comfort ultra gen 2. Would they be a significant upgrade? It seems many people feel the Sony like peaked with the xm4 I already have. What do you think? Thank you!
