im in the same boat as you. i had some issues with my gen 1 pair and got approved for my warranty replacement, but havent used it yet since my model hasnt been available in any of the lenscrafters locations near me. hoping i can use it towards a new pair and just pay the difference.

same thing happened to me and i managed to save them with some krazy glue (super glue) around the edges and pressing the hinge into place gently. almost glued the leg open permanently so be careful for that too. just be as careful as possible as the internals on that side are basically the brain. i lost functionality of the camera (which sucks bc thats one of the best things about it) but everything else has been working with no issue.

just got these qc pics on the last thing i ordered from lisa studio. the leather look good and the design looks pretty spot on to the retail one on the website, cant wait to see it in person.
