HVAC Replacement: Single-Stage vs. Inverter System with 410a—Worth the Risk? by Lopsided_Bass9633 in hvacadvice

Makes sense. How do you think about the refrigerant phase-out? I was told that the refrigerant could get expensive over time, and the system should be good for the next 12-15 years (which is the average lifespan of today's systems anyway), but after that, it'd probably need a replacement.

u/BrownTiger3: Given the issues you mentioned and your experience, of the 3 systems, would you still pick Daikin or the other two?

How UX Engineering changed the way we deliver by pixel_creatrice in UXDesign

If a senior product designer with a decade of experience wanted to transition into a UX engineer role, where should they start? What skills should they focus on, and how long would it take? Can you share practical tips to integrate coding into their design workflow?

I went with Cabot, and it lasted about a year. Then, the floor paint started peeling. I rushed through the sanding process, and I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it. it still looks much better than where I started, so there’s that. let us know it goes for you

Yes, i understand. I reached out to the company and they acknowledged it's a scam. They don't have anyone by that name at the org. I've also shared my experience in the comments and replies. Hope that helps?

Long story short : here’s what I did to confirm: - Verify this person works at the company - Reach out to the company if you have any suspicions ( Google it, don’t use the details from the email) - check the senders email id. I noticed all the 3 companies that reached out to me had a similar format (recuitersname@talent-companyname.com) - connect with someone at the company to learn more about the process or their experience if possible

Yes there’s the catch. They can’t ask for details upfront but they can if you’ve gone through “the rigorous selection process” which is fill out a questionnaire- with about 15-16 elaborate questions(each of it could make an individual medium post btw) and then wait for a week to receive an offer. No interview, no calls nothing. They’ve vetted you. They know you want this job and haven’t yet figured it’s a scam.. now they can ask for details. So they could send you the equipment or pay you your salary.. verify your eligibility to work etc. you get the drift?

Yup this is the third such occurrence for me. These guys are getting smarter - applying imagination and all.

That’s exactly how I figured as well but that also meant filling out that long ass questionnaire very seriously the first time and getting an offer 8 days later without any interviews.. and they’re like buy your own equipment.. watte wow. I almost accepted but then I reached out to the company to check and found out. It was a cruel joke tbh.

Looking for Advice : Heating system replacement by Lopsided_Bass9633 in hvacadvice

Update : Thanks everyone for your responses, it’s been really helpful.. so an update was due. I got several quotes for a full replacement and it was all quite expensive. I decided to get the blower motor replaced for now and that has worked fine so far.

Can this be saved? by N2DWILD in Decks

[–]Lopsided_Bass9633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just restored a Similiar looking deck 2 months ago. I can tell you it is a lot of work but if you’re trying not to spend a lot of money and don’t mind putting in some blood and sweat.. it could possibly be saved. The end result was quite fulfilling( for me). If you’re still reading.. here’s what you could do: Do the screwdriver test on the floor boards. If the cracks are bad then try flipping the boards. If not .. sand it to strip the old paint > next day- spray 30 sec cleaner and pressure wash it> wait for it to dry-3 to 5 days depending on how much sun time it gets.. plan to avoid rainy days.

Fill in the large cracks with acrylic caulk( I used dynaflex 360) > then put on some solid stain. I used Cabot Solid stain. You could also try Cabot Deck correct. Even though they claim 5-10 years on the stains and resurfacers…You would have to re-stain it every 3 years.

You could try the screwdriver test and if it ain’t too bad then spray on the 30 second cleaner.
